Riot, some clarification on Warpath [Passive] - No longer ignores unit collision?

Can we please talk about this Hecarim change on PBE? I know they moved it to his E while his E is active...but given the increasing awkwardness of minion pathing and blocking lately, I don't like where this change is going. This part of the passive has been there since Hecarim's beginning and I don't find it to be any particular issue as to why he might be a strong pick right now. All I feel is that it'll make him play clunky and ruin that ghost pony feel we're all used to.

Thoughts? Clarification? He's not even statistically significant right now - he's sitting at a 50-51% winrate with a 5% pickrate in Plat...winrate increases in Diamond by 1-2% and pickrate by 3%. While I recognize he's more prevalent in Challenger, we all know how reliable the turbulence of Challenger SoloQ has been. If you need to rebalance something on Hec, please don't hit a trait like which could ruin the champion's movement - which in this case is major given it's Hecarim.

It's a guess: His passive conflicts with phantom dancer as in they cancel each other out. They can't fix it so they'll have to get rid of one. Hecarim drew the short stick.

You could build the old PD without passive conflicts. I mean it wouldn't override his passive in any way, and even if it did it gave the same effect.

Then what about every other champ that can passively ignore unit collision? Why aren't they receiving the same nerf? Why weren't they nerfed before? PD gave the same anti-minion block passive before, just without the handicap that it only works near enemies, so they all should have never had the ability to ignore unit collision in the first place.

Maybe, but Fizz isn't facing the same changes. While you could argue that no one buys Phantom Dancer on Fizz, Hecarim really can't afford to buy it given how he needs a good balance of defensive stats now.

this change guts lane Hecarim while HP changes gut jungle Hecarim. there's nowhere to play Hecarim now.

I wouldn't say that necessarily...but I think he'll be easily passable for the competitive that mean to win. Vi and Lee Sin are going to be superior in almost every way now.

pretty much. Vi deals way more damage and is way more mobile while Lee Sin is manaless, way more mobile, has more utility and has a far better early game.

originally the reason to play hec was that he could either chase you down through minions or hide in the minion wave to trade. now he can't. gg.

Pretty much, which is why I want clarification for why Riot is making this change. For all we know, they're changing more items to have the "Pass through minions" feature...but let's be real, I'm just focusing on optimism at this point. Not enough people play Hecarim to raise questions.
