While we at updating mages, could we somehow bring amplifying tome to 400 gold?
AD champions have option of risky, but aggressive start with 
+ 3
. Having to rely on sustain and risking getting bursted, being rewarded with very quick power spike of 
or others.
AP champions lack this option, single potion is not enough to lane. And before 6.9 this was understandable, allowing quick 
to Vlad, Kennen or Kat wasn't the best idea, nor was Lux starting with Ampli + 2 mana pots. But now, since offers very good gameplay for both sides, and mana pots were removed all of abuse cases seem gone, I see no reason not to allow AP champions same deal, 
+ 2 into quick

I see no reason not to bring tome to 400g, even without it needing a nerf. It would still be way inferior started compared to dorans, due to lack of mana regen what most mages need, and would offer less regen than long sword. A risk-reward play.
Again - reducing AP on to go with that change doesn't seem necessary, but even if so, removing 1-2 points to keep roughly the same efficiency would still make it a nice 400 g starter.
