That argument still applies to some extent, though for different reasons. Because Rito started out as a small company geared only towards developing a much smaller game, some of their core tech is so old and poorly implemented even to this day that they need to address their issue of tech debt before adding a replay system on top. I'm also surprised they haven't just promoted third-party sites as a temporary solution or incorporated them in any way, but it's likely they want to do things right from the get-go.
