Shurelya's Reverie would make a great mage item rather than a support item....

This item have a great active that any mage would love, but its intended use is for supports to help their team engage. Historically, mages have always abused ap support items. This is because mages and supports have very similar functions...CC. In almost all cases, whenever an AP support item is getting used my mages, riot is quick to stop mages from accesses it.

I've already seen Meddlar discussing this on his "Riots thoughts post".

My question is would it be that bad if the item is just converted into a mage item? Mages already like it and I haven't seen any supports using it.... so why not? Mage itemization isn't all that great either and they have been asking desperately for more unique items...

So why not make it so that the active only works on the user and not everyone around....

Would that be so bad?
