My current thoughts on Ryze.

Champion.gg - Ryze Middle Stats, Builds, Runes, Masteries and Counters

His current winrate is abysmal but, he's still very new. Taliyah was the same way, same thing with aurelion. New champions have low winrates. This does not mean they need buffs, it just means people don't know how to play him well. He has also been banned in LCS, not sure how often but ive seen him been banned in a few games. RIOT has also stated that he is looking a bit strong. I agree. Being able to flash W E Q and instantly blow someone up seems too strong. His playmaking potential is also very strong.

I feel like his damage should go down but his overal spell spam should go up, but that's just my opinion

Probably because he's harder now and not just "put everything on instacast once you buy item 3003 and smash your face into your keyboard"

You need to know the different combos with flux and charging runes.

Yeah, so do I. Old Ryze was fun since you could throw out as many spells as you want, but new Ryze is better since you're constantly thinking about which speel to use next, keeping track of runes, resetting your Q, all that fun stuff.

But I do miss the old ult tho, Realm Warp is BORING

True, although i disagree with the realm warp part. His old ult was boring IMO. Just a stat stick buff. new ult gives him crazy playmaking potential.

Personally, I think I'd like him retooled to gain less power from AP and more from Mana. But with Riot's recent drug trip to "ALL AP CARRIES NEED MANAPOOLS, NOT MANA REGEN. MANA REGEN IS FOR SUPPORTS." I doubt that'll happen. Which is a pity.

Well mana pools are better than mana regen. Before when item 3028 was really good Ziggs could spell spam all day and endlessly push

All Ziggs needs is a tear and a mastery, and boom. You pretty much have the same thing.

Meanwhile you have people like Karthus who now have obsolete quotes thanks to this change.

like tear yeah im building this damn near every game on mages lately. Mana costs seem high and little to no regen makes inly a couple of spell rotations b4 ur out of mana. Feels like i should be using my adc runes and pages just to farm the early game and malz's mana cost like wtf everything is 80 or higher except malf visions which starts at 60 and goes up. Even with the regen from his e he cant spam at all without a tear.So im forced to buy it on champs that shouldnt be buying it lol feels bad man.If u cant spam malz's abilties he kinda really sucks but he not the only one left in this spot with high mana cost and little regen options and that is why their not getting played

I personally feel that in Riot's efforts to diversify mages, they locked the traditional mage into specific builds with little to no leeway.

I don't think, I know. I play him. Hell, I play Ryze who spams MORE and Tear + Mastery enables me to do it.

I play ryze too. that is the most stupid thing i have ever read in a very long time. A single W E Q in lane is about 200 mana. 150 with tear. 1.5% missing mana per 5 seconds is not going to regen that any time soon.

First. There is no need to devolve to insults. We're having polite conversation, and frankly it more or less makes your own arguments less credible.

Second. I don't know what to tell you. I very rarely find myself in want of Mana post-tear. And this has never changed my playstyle. Spam, spam, and more spam.

Third. Before we break out into a fist fight, let's try to keep on the topic of Ryze.

His win-rate may be abysmal, as you say, but the reason for that is simple. He lacks as a team fighter in his current iteration.

I say this for several reasons.

A team fight is very rarely a place for his combos. Skirmishes, yes, dueling with a lane while a raging Vollibear is rushing towards you, yes. But it becomes more difficult with four or five people, all in a mess because your own team is causing their own chaos. In a scene where you can't even really tell where your own champion is, it's going to be hard for Ryze to flourish.
His own team, despite all evidence of Ryze knowing what he's doing, tends to clear out minions as fast as possible no matter where you are. With an entire enemy team sitting just out of range of a turret, this hurts Ryze's output.

That being said, he is extremely strong right now. No, he is not in need of buffs, though I am sad that the inevitable Nerfhammer's a-comin'.

OK cool.

Demonstrable lie, again. when maxing E the W E Q combo is 100+50+40 or very close to that. So unless you have 12,666 mana, you are not going to regen 190 in 5 seconds(forgot to calculate for the tear but my point still stands). Sure once his mana pool gets large then he can spam a lot, but he still has shit mana regen.

I've never had much of an issue teamfighting with him. Whether it's peeling the assassin off your ADC b a quick E W or deleting the enemy ADC, or even shredding the tank with a Q W Q E Q, it's never been hard for me. That's not even mentioning the E E E Q combo you can pull off if they are grouped up, or just an E E Q for AOE damage.

What does clearing minions have to do with anything?

Wrong. I call you a child because you are incapable of partaking of a polite conversation without devolving into "Lies. Most stupid thing I have read." And so forth.

You respond to my attempts to steer the topic back on course and agree with you, pause there for a moment, agree with you , and you cannot remove your head from your anal cavity to get past an apologetic comment such as

"I don't know what to say. I rarely find myself in want of mana."

You disproved nothing. You only proved that you can't be bothered to actually act like a decent human being.

And as for clearing minions. When you're in a defensive position, for example, under a turret, and you find yourself as Ryze not wanting to get too close to an enemy team since the entire group is sitting there just waiting for you to drop the ball, the next best thing is to combo onto the minions to poke at the opposing team. Your own team clearing them makes that difficult.

ehh, I'd rather not. That just encourages him to buy Frozen Heart, which should not be a core damage item for a carry

He's still new in plat+. In high elo 1 day of practice won't get you very far. You have to have a champions mechanics down very well to be able to play them to their full potential.
