I wasn't going to say anything until I checked the statistics...

http://champion.gg/champion/Udyr 57% win rate. 10% play rate. I was very skeptical at first.... but Udyr has a favorable match-up against every single jungler except "Jungle Aatrox" which is woefully underpicked and falls within the margin of error. So it is not unreasonable to say that Udyr has a favorable match up against EVERYONE.

I'm going to say; Nerf Udyr. Statistics do not lie.

relatively high play rate? check, high win rate? check

welp, not going to argue with this one.

Yeah I was skeptical at first but I randomly decided to check the statistics and realized I must join the bandwagon.

He's overpowered, the statistics show it.

I have a question to you as a person who delves in statistics. would you agree that achieving a 50% across the board is unrealistic and unfeasible? with so many characters, so many items, so many players, and the existence of meta, variance naturally exists. characters go a bit over and a bit under all the time. what would be the statistic cut point in your opinion, in terms of pick rates&win rates, where a champion becomes a problem, either too weak or too strong, and not just a shifting variance in the numbers?

Learn to play, just because you lose to a champ does't make them OP. Stop crying.

Strawman argument/ad hominem.

Nice try though.

Nirvana fallacy.

Good try, but failed once again. The fact that perfection cannot be achieved does not mean broken characters must not be nerfed into balanced levels.

you picked a single line and ignored the rest, I didn't not disagree that a broken character must be nerfed into balanced levels, I was asking WHAT is the cut off point for balanced champions? 53% win rate with high pick rate? 54%? I was not disputing your argument about udyr needing a nerf, I was asking on what guide line do you decide what has passed into the the realm of broken, not to argue, but out of curiosity about your way of deciding that the statistics say one or the other.

obviously you wouldn't call everything that is 51% win rate and above average pickrate OP, or anything below 49% and below average pick rate under powered. out of pure curiosity, where do you think is the statistic high balance point where beyond it one becomes over powered, and the statistic low point where one becomes under powered?

So what do you think is needed in order to declare a champion over powered or not? do you have a statistic cut off point of winrate/playrate to decide? do you use other methods to decide this is OP and this is not? please, I'm interested on how you decide such a thing in a way to allow you to discard another person statement

Those are pretty high numbers, did you check with multiple sites?

runic echos udyr is cancer, even moreso than devourer udyr because now udyr actually ganks lanes

Dominick Destine1 votes

But is it really Runic Echoes' fault?

Udyr is just too damn simple....he is the most binary champion in the game; He either reaches you or he doesn't.... there's no middle ground or tactics other than just moving really fast. It's a problem with an ancient design.

Yes, it is somewhat RE's fault. Because it covers up his intended weakness of kiteability and mana problems when spamming stance switching. It is unlike Devourer in that regard - Devourer magnifies Udyr's intended strengths instead.

Lol as soon as a champ gets popular everyone says nerf him. Udyr was always strong it was just most trick lovers were bronzies that didn't know how to play. Now he's being played everywhere

Good strawman/red herring.

Maybe try again after reading the original post which talks about win rate in conjunction with his high pick.

BadmoonBC1 votes

Read the rest of my post silly. Udyr was always strong but because now he's popular more people are going to win by playing him. Making his win rate go up. Should he be nerfed? I dunno about that. Need his move speed slightly maybe
