Snowman Arc3 votesWell, gaining 5 more AP on Rylai's (an item that almost no one buys), or Zhonya's (which comes on later in the game) or Banshee's (which is a very situation-specific item) is gonna fix nothing at all. If they can't manage the damage the ADC's do, might as well buff the AP gained by standard items. Morello could use a little extra love for example. Seeing how assassins in the mid lane can easily itemize defensively vs mages, while not sacrificing much, it's not a bad idea. Hexdrinker on Zed nullifies most mages.

Snowman Arc1 votesI'm not quite sure how will that affect mid lane mages. For starters, I don't take anything for granted. As far as I know, Riot might even fuck up and buff marksmen LOL. But the problem still remains. Mages are behind the curve. Runes don't fit them well, itemization is expensive, there is no real way to snowball.
The problem with ADCs is that they can snowball so much easier. It's a 2v2 lane, so it's easier for a kill to happen there, maybe even 2 kills = more gold. Then, a pushing bot lane can push faster with two people (Morgana + Sivir for example), so taking the first tower is much easier = more gold. ADC farm is much easier then Mage farm. Itemization is much easier and has more options (still limited, of course).
All these points show how ADCs just get so far ahead of everyone else with all the gold income they generate. There has to be a huge change to avoid that snowball. At this point I'm not sure what's the best solution. Maybe mid tower not having a shield so that there can be potential first tower there?
Tomoe Gozen1 votesRiot does plan to address the Marksmen issues in the midseason. Riot Axes outlined the plan on what we should expect to see in the near future.
Marksmen are the champions that the meta currently revolves around but they aren't the only problem. It's the collective bot lane that literally invites ganks left and right that's the issue. One bot lane is going to win out in these trades and the losing side is going to struggle.

Maybe they should have released these changes WITH the mana changes... yeah that could have solved some problems I think... not all of them but some.
Leetri3 votesYou'd think the boards would've learned by now to not go completely batshit insane whenever anything even remotely negative ends up on the PBE. It's one thing to go "I don't agree with this but let's wait a moment and see if there's anything more to this" and "omg riot literally wants to remove mages from the game, they're a bunch of shitbrain ADC mains". Sadly the boards tend to go for the latter.

You gained at best 5-10 AP mid game and about 20 AP late game. However if you take into account the seraph nerfs, you still lose AP late game!!!!
