Why are some summoner spells much worse than others?

Ignite, Teleport, Flash, and Heal easily outrump the other summoner spells because they are always useful but why is no love given to the other summoner spells? (Smite is fine as is, it doesn’t need any changes, also I’m only talking about summoner spells on summoner’s rift).

Barrier: For a shield, 2.5 seconds is so short, compared to enchanted supports who shield you all the time with longer lasting shields this is ridiculous. It’s only useful on those who burst extremely fast like Zed or Fizz but why can’t they make it last longer so it could be used to survive more champions like Draven or Vayne. Just make shield last longer.

Ghost: Ever since the nerf to take 2 seconds to get the movement speed boost, it feels pretty bad. It’s nice because it’s a low cooldown tool to escape ganks but when on offense it just takes too long to get the movement speed when you need it because a lot can happen in 2 seconds. Remove the 2 second startup boost.

Cleanse: What is the point of taking this when most CC’s now are disruption. Plus in team fights, what is the point when as soon as you cleanse one cc, you get cc again. Make this a shorter lasting Morgana E so this feels useful.

Exhaust: In my opinion probably the worst of all summoner spells. What is the point of using this to slow enemies when a lot of the high damage champions have so many dashes to ignore the slows anyway. What is the point of using it for damage reduction when damage is so high, champions can still blow you up even with 40% damage reduction. Yes I know this used to be pretty op in the ardent censer meta but that was when it would reduce attack speed which specifically screwed ADC’s who were at their prime in that meta. Could we make the debuff ground so enemy assassins can actually get hurt by this or increase damage reduction. Or just nerf ignite back to what it was before Riot messed with it and made this damage meta even worse so maybe these 2 summoner spells can be considered equal for supports.

Who said they all had to be equal? All the popular summs are healthy for the game. Only teleport was unhealthy for competitive, so they nerfed it.

Laughs in level 3 100 to zeroing almost any champ in the game with electrocute ignite combo

Laughs at ridiculous comment At lvl 3 electrocute deals 48 dmg and ignite deals 130.

Tell me who can 100 to 0 almost any champ in the game with this?

Almost anyone. Notice I said electrocute ignite combo. That means abilities. You only need to do 2/3 a hp bar at level 3 to kill someone thanks to that combo.

Are you just spewing nonsense?

I calculated the average champ hp lvl 1 out of all champs is 554 and average hp per level is 88. Therefore the average lvl 3 hp is 730. 730/3 = 243 while ignite plus electrocute only deal 178. So thats not even a third. Thats not even including hp you get from starting items or stat bonuses.

Therefore in order to "100 to zero" somebody at lvl 3 who has no hp items with ignite+electrocute, a champ would have to deal 552 damage in one combo. How many champs can you list that deal 552 damage in one combo at level 3?

I said smite is fine as is. Yes only junglers pick it but that is because it is designed for only junglers.

They are all useful in some way. Maybe take cleanse against a Talon to cleanse yourself from his ignite + bleed combo at level 2, most likely saving your life, or from a heavy cc comp (although, Mercurial Scimitar is the better choice in a comp like that). Exhuast is good against a champion like Yasuo, Katarina, or Tryndamere, who rely on high DPS to do anything. If you take away 40% of damage from a Kat for 2.5 seconds, then she is useless. I see Barrier a lot on champions like Velkoz, Orianna, and Lux. I think it's very niche but useful to some champions. Lastly, Ghost is niche too for a champion like Hecarim or Darius who like to chase down their opponents and get kills or setup plays.

The "OP" summoner spells are ones that are just good for every champ, regardless of role (besides smite, of course). You wouldn't take Barrier on Ekko, you'd take Ignite or TP. It ultimately depends on what you prefer and whatever helps you win the most games.
