Update power creep is becoming a serious problem

All of the recent updates Riot has performed have constituted massive buffs that plunge champions into pick/ban scenarios in a huge, huge way. It started with the gangplank update, then onto fiora, then onto the juggernauts (all except skarner, surprisingly) are mandatory pick/bans in the current meta.

Of course, it's been a problem with several updates in the past; Eve, katarina, etc. The champs were found super broken after a rework, and then subsiquently gutted. Skarner was gutted as well, but for some reason, the others in this most recent update have still been left feeling pretty darn op.

Now we're seeing indirect nerfs to literally every other class (except maybe supports) and buffs to ADCs, as well as "reworks" that most often just equate to buffs, as well as increasing their early game power across the board (which is SUPPOSED to be their weak point). It's safe to say that ADCs are going to become ridiculously dominant in the new meta, and that AP characters are going to feel even more overshadowed than they already do.

I'm calling this phenomena "Update power creep". Riot updates something to make it more "interesting" which usually constitutes huge buffs to the over all power level. As a result, we see the power of entire classes shift upwards, resulting in heavily increased power creep while older champs are left lying in the dust.

Overtuned updates are a huge issue. The feedback from the PBE on the marksman changes has been overwhelmingly that their itemization is too heavily buffed, and all of that feedback has been ignored (not to mention, feedback on the AP item nerfs has also been both ignored and without any context provided...). So update power creep will continue. Inb4 juggernaut top, Varus mid, kogmaw adc, ashe support and kindred jungle.

The thing i hate is that everyone likes to claim that these champs are easy to kite; which is absolute truth in lane with a ranged champ or in 1v1 2v1 jungle skirmishes.

But that weakness is completely thrown out the window in post 30 min teamfights that dont end in a 1v1/2v1 skirmish

The differents this time is that juggernaut have a big weakness vs kiting. The adc changes will exactly exploit that weakness. Why would you nerf something that probaly won't be viable anymore after the change. Did you see the pbe yet. Their core item item 3071 is increase with 500-800 gold I believe. The nerf only is already an agrument that these juggernauts won't see a lot of play if this get's live. Do you known how much differents that is...

Garen is nothign, people are just not used to play against him. He's no different than before, his laning has ben nerfed inevery aspect. Darius is finally fine now. He's been REALLY OP for a while, then quite strong, nd now he's average. However, he's the ultimate melee duelist. If you judge champps on melee dueling, he's going to be on top of the list.

Of course. Nearly every champion rework has been because they had a kit that was too underloaded to balance properly, so they rework them and add more stuff to the kit. This tends to make them stronger overall.
