Maybe incorporating crit mechanic on the champion wasn't a good idea. But leaving him alone for one patch is an atrocity. Ryze has been indirectly nerfed patch after patch on top of his direct nerfs all because of pro-play.

ALL MłGHT1 votesI remember when Kog'Maw W was nerfed by 2% on-top of Rageblade nerf. His win-rate dropped 7% but it took Riot an entire patch to revert W nerf partially. The original nerf also had no context and was tagged in the patch 3 days before it dropped so it had no chance of actual testing on PBE. Yasuo, on the other hand, has a handful of people that are willing to test and play him on PBE including many Rioters that absolutely LOVE the champion. So why didn't they catch this during PBE testing? It's actually silly that they didn't anticipate this. In Kog'Maws case, no one really plays Kog'Maw so no one really felt the changes on PBE, if anyone actually test it out. The Yasuo community outcry is far greater than Kog'Maw's thus changes ensued. There is extreme champion bias in this game, and I for one have a bias towards Ryze BUT I can understand what makes Ryze oppressive. I am willing to sacrifice a W nerf on Ryze to benefit other parts of his kit but no one listens. Only popular champions get what they want.

Oh, and not to mention, a buff was foreseen for him when they announced the changes to crit a while back. So idk why anyone is "shocked" that he got a hotfix. This was coming.

Ragnaveil1 votesSimply put, his ult. The reason why the Frozen Force build died was because of the change that made it so he could only gain 50% bonus armor pen if he crits a target. No crit, no armor pen. So him trying a build other than crit makes his ult complete shit.
Pika Fox2 votesThe difference is Ryze got nerfed because ryze is good. Yasuo got indirectly nuked from orbit to fix other issues when he was balanced.
Also, ryze is still god tier. Yasuo is in the dumpster.
ALL MłGHT1 votesRyze is god tier where? In LCS? He has a 46% win rate in all regions. In solo Q? He has a 44% win rate in plat+. He has one of the lowest DPM compared to other midlaners played in LCS. You can say X is god tier but you HAVE TO back it up. Ryze is anything but good atm.

Pika Fox2 votesOther ADCs got shaken up, ez has always been a consistent ADC with multiple build paths and a safe fall back ADC. Hes not a dominant unstoppable force as much as he is consistent. ADCs are generally the smallest pool of viable champions, and what supports are good enforces that even more.
