Riot: we don’t want Ryze to be able to reset abilities and perms spam spells and root

Make him to work like a hero from Dota 2, Invoker
If they are ever going to properly rework him, as in giving him completely different abilities here's my suggestion...
Like OP said instead of "reset abilities and perms spam spells and root" Riot should explore his Lore identify more.
Ryze's current goal from what we know is protecting the scroll he carries with himself and finding Runes to prevent them from getting in the wrong hands. He also gains a lot of knowledge from collecting all sorts of Runes across Runeterra = different types of Magic/Abilities.
Suggestion #1 - Instead of him having abilities, make him have to collect Runes that spawn randomly around the Map (like Bard Chimes), which he can collect and consume to gain an ability, or combine specific abilities together as a set against certain situations. Basically make him more Quest based as he is described in Lore.
Or
Keep most of his abilities relatively similar but replace his R. Runes he would collect would take the place of R ability instead, which he can switch upon collecting a different one or upon using it (rough suggestion, but more balanced than the first part).
Suggestion #2 - Have him collect Runes (still like Bard Chimes) but him needing to collect a specific amount for him to have bonus effects on his abilities (More AoE, Extra Range, etc...) just no more bonus damage, that's dull and too typical with most champions.
ER is also a fairly short item combined with your most impactful ability (R) and requires auto attacks to get its bonus effect, on a moderate CD.
Essence Reaver is like a certain banned yugioh Tellarknight monster.
Cool design, but terrible in practice because you have to balance everyone around it.
Unlike Ryze, assassins don't typically build or need ER so you can scratch ADs matching in Burst Per Second. He is also ranged and toplaners abusing it don't have spammable strong CC. ADCs just use it to increase DPS.
but also we dont care that katarina kills literaly failing everything that she can fail, q, jump over you, then get dagger, dont hit dagger damage, jump again, item, dagger to air, ult, fail pasive damage again, jump resets, jump again, kill get literaly 0 damage done by ways that can be evaded, still more damage that a good landed skillshot of other champs , skill? i need tons , if you get a full team of cc, and you only focus on stop me, but i still will do damage, because half milisecond of ult does 500 damage, and thats suposing that i dont get a good engage champ in top or jungle, but i guess that we need to nerf elise because a lvl 2 stealth is op cof cof shaco cof cof twitch cof cof oh...sorry, no, realy i said nothing...you re doing great riot
