Yeah it's super nice playing against a Lux or Azir who sit back spamming their abilities on cooldown yet remain in lane with full mana. This game is such shit the more and more I think about it, lmao.
Sorry what? Full Mana? As a lux or Azir? What?? Azir's mana drops extremely quick when spamming abilities. Same with Lux or any champion with mana really. Early game, their mana is a big issue. It drops off late game OFC but spamming abilities early is how you die.
There is mana creep everywhere dude. Take a look at runes, it's dumb. I've played Lux (infact i bought her ultimate skin as well) and I can say that she does not go scarce on mana as bad as you make it out to be. Infact, I don't think she really runs out of mana as long as you know how to last hit without using abilities. The only big issue Lux has in the early game is how squishy she is. Like, 15 base armor and below 550 hp? Squishy.
At level 2, lux has 417 mana. From what I know, a basic lux combo is q e. Her Q at level 1 is 50 mana. Her E at level 1 is 70. So her basic combo costs 120 mana. This means that she can use this combo roughly 3-4 times. This doesn't factor in the Manaflow band.

his W cost 40 mana (and it is his main clear wave tool)
how is that high when some mages have 80+ cost?
Azir's Q at level one is 70 mana, his E is 60 mana, and his ult is 100 mana. If he is constantly going W and then Q, he will either have to back or auto minions until he has mana again. His basic combo costs him 110 mana. His mana at level 2 with zero items is 380. This means that after using that combo three times, he has to wait. So unless he is walking up to soldier you, in which case you should be heavily punishing, Azir cannot stay back and spam.
nah dude thats because adcs get to be "resourceless" so mages need to step up to their games by stacking mana items!!1
What the f**k is a mana?
You can experience the joy of running out of mana just by playing someone like Ryze, and drink in all of the happiness as you stumble through his early game. Swain is pretty good at that as well.
Outside of the older champs and champs who are intentionally designed with extremely punishing mana costs, most of the time mana doesn't seem like a gameplay factor on a lot of the champs who uses mana these days even without early cruise with blue buff. But yeah, I really would prefer to make mana management actually a thing again.
Cheeky manaflow band nerfs/mini rework should happen in a couple patches, so this won't be the case for long.
