Let's talk about split pushers

This isn't a QQ thread, not some "Mah gawd nerf Tryndamere he just split pushed all game" thread, just a nice talk about split pushing.

Riot has stated that they wanted diversity in strategies, hence the constant jungle changes this season, making the majority of "jungle" champions equally viable, as well as reamping some unconventional champions (I.E., Trailblazer making things like TF and Karthus jungle more viable). One of the more interesting strategies we've seen is splitpushing.

The concept is pretty simple. I'll go push alone, you guys 4v5 and let me take out this side lane. What's more interesting is the champions. I feel it's gone unnoticed how many strategies there are to split pushing. And let's talk about that.

We got the classic Jax. This guy's passive + auto reset and sheen procs makes him a tower shredder. The biggest threat Jax poses is the fact that he is arguably the best duelist in the game, so you simply cannot send one person to stop him.

Then we have another popular split pusher Tryndamere. Similar to Jax he is a dueling god. You can't just tell one person to go stop, because the will get dove and die. Also the fact that he can just say "fuck it" and 1v1 your tower is hilarious.

A relatively popular split pusher, Nasus. All game this guy is slowly building up that Q. Then come late game your towers get 3 shot and he has 4k HP. Have fun fighting him alone, hope you can kite.

Zed Zed can split push fairly easily due to his high damage and his high chance of escape with shadows. Send one, they get dove with his ult, send more he just kinda leaves with shadows and you waste time.

And a couple of more interesting champions for split pushing.

XinZhao. More specifically, AP Xin Zhao. Nothing quite as funny as 1v1ing your inhib tower and losing no hp at all. Just need some time because you're not exactly gonna shred through that.

Shen has mediocre pushing power and average dueling. His biggest threat as a split pusher is the fact that as soon as someone comes to stop him he teleports in and his team gets to fight 5v4 while whoever went to stop him is sitting in a side lane.

Split pushing is such an underrated strategy in this game. So many champions will just destroy your base single handed while their team stalls 4v5. Of course though, they run the risk of their team losing that 4v5. Who's your guys' favorite split pushers?

You forgot TwistedFate the tower-eater.

Fiora MasterYi Trundle absolutely melt towers and are near impossible to 1v1.

Also for whatever reason, Akali chunks the absolute shit out of towers, not sure exactly why.

Fiora, Yi and Trundle can melt towers but have terrible escape.

Also Akali can deal that tower damage thanks to Lich Bane and short CD spells.

Its not about the mana, its about the on hit proc. And since her Q can only be proc'd with an auto attack, might as well make that auto attack even stronger.

Exactly.

Several manaless champions still use a spellblade variant. Its that powerful.

¿Why escape if you can kill the enemy? (enemys sometimes)

You guys forgot about Udyr , his tiger stance eats towers really fast.

I like to split with Riven and Leblanc. It's pretty easy to escape from large groups of people and the new blue pot lets LB shove down towers at a reasonable pace.

I love split pushing strats. People do not know how to handle them at all, including my teams haha.

The problem is, most of the time, the team split pushing, the other 4 don't have the patients and constantly initiate 4v5s before the splitter can get anything done.

I really like teams that have great disengage such as karma/ashe who can poke and run, wasting time while the splitter does his thing. you just have to make sure you capitalize if they send 2+ to the split, and disengage well if they initiate.

Whenever I play top I spend like half the game splitpushing. It's become something of a joke among my friends, but I carry with it on the regular.

If you can push down towers, you can win games, simple as that.
