Why ISNT there a no-smite warning?

Let me paint you a picture [STORY for context] If you dont care skip past the lines

This is my first game since buying Orianna, i had played her once on freeweek in a normals, and once on urf on PBE. I luckily got the mid GP to trade with me as I got my second role top. The person who got Bot lane asked if he could trade with ACTUALLY anyone and the jungler accepted.

Before we leave champ select I check that i have my AP Thunderlords and AP runes. But forget to check my summoners for SOME reason and I have exhaust/flash instead of ignite or barrier. Oh well.

RIGHT after everyone locks in we realize we dont have a decent tank. I figure i could build AP Tank (but then for some dumb reason end up not doing that) and maybe Wukong could build tank and the issue would be solved. Upon loading into the game GP says "We have 3 exhausts" Well then that isnt the worse thing ever, but then our jungler says "I forgot smite, ill just afk and you can remake" I convinced him not to as once before i had someone DC at 00:01 and it wouldnt let me remake and he asked if we should open mid.

We decided to try to win, even with everyones mistakes stacking the game FAR against us, our Wukong JG went top with GP and EVERY lane gave up early kills. Essentially the game was an utter trainwreck, Jhin/Camille bot DESTROYED our Vayne/Nami bot lane, I did my best to roam because Zyra is a pain in the ass to lane against, GP was doing semi-decent against darius but Wukong was XP starved as hell. Basically we got destroyed.

I dont blame the player for forgetting smite, it is an honest mistake that me myself have made SEVERAL times. But at least SOME of this could have been prevented with a smite warning. I understand this only happens once every 100 or so games (at least for me)

I am not one of those people that are like "I remember when smite WASNT necessary on jungling, damn riot forcing metas." Im fine with it being tied to smite, but the junglers relevancy almost DEPENDS on taking smite then. While there are comps and strategies that can get away without it, No one is always prepared for that strategy, and it would take a really long time to type in chat anyways.

While it would take programming time it would help prevent some pain.

BTW can the warning be tied to a sound as i am often in another tab looking at something after picking my champ and checking runes and masteries. (And i like the thudding sound before loading into a game, it was a reminder to check my runes/masteries)

The main issue is what if that jungler lane swaps? Well then dont give a warning that someone forgot smite, give a warning to ALL players to check their runes/masteries/sums.

Cuz sometimes no smite is intentional

Indeed, but a warning would be nice, because no-smite comps are RARE

Just ping your smite timer( Ctrl+left click the icon ), if your team ignores you or still wants to risk it then its on their heads not yours.

I agree.

This is a QOL change that Riot should implement. Upvoted.
