I’m tired of people pretending Sett is just overtuned

I don’t care if his ability descriptions are short or if he doesn’t do anything seemingly fancy. His kit is fundamentally overpowered, not overtuned.

His Q gives him movespeed and %hp damage

His W has an absurd amount of shielding and even true damage based on damage taken/his max hp

His E is solid cc that is a sizable pull/stun.

And his R does damage to the entire enemy team based on his target’s bonus HP.

Every part of his kit rewards him for building tank, while outright designing him to kill tanks and even punishing anybody for picking anything that goes tanky into him. He’s the first ever champion that scales doubly well if he builds a gargoyles while his opponent also builds one.

Just because he doesn’t have bells and whistles everywhere doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have fundamentally strong if not overpowered elements on every skill in his kit. Especially his W and ult, but his Q and E add insult to injury. He’s not magically a balanced design just because he has to run at you while being melee, and I’m sick and tired of people pretending that is the case.

A tank tank killer that scales off both YOUR damage AND YOUR TANKINESS fundamentally isn’t a balanced design.

I think they need to keep his W true damage as is but only keep the line that does true damage, remove the physical area around it. This way if you outplay it you get 0 damage instead of still a good amount of damage. Also, he doesn't get the shield if he doesn't hit a champ.

These 2 should be enough to make him fair and square

The only issue with sett is his W, either the cooldown is too short, activation speed slightly too fast or the scaling is too good.

His ult? Look at Qiyana, i do not see people spamming that they hate hers.

His Q? I mean-.....yeah it´s not actually a lot of max HP damage though, there are far worse offenders and it´s easily tuned even if it actually is a problem.

E? You´d rather he have a Darius pull or Illaoi E instead? Spare me the nightmare material.

W is overtuned that pretty much it, after that? He your run of the mill juggernaut that somewhat confident in the late game compare to some one like Darius who struggles greatly.

His design is terrible, his shield is my main issue for me and it needs heavy nerf.

I feel ya. I think Riot did an exalent job desighning him so he doesn't have to much of a tanky or damage side. The only thing I think needs to get needed is the healing from his passive but only by a fractional amount

Then just decrease that shielding and dmg and he is fine.

Trundle was supposed to be the excact same thing. A Juggernaut (?) that was created to destroy tanks in lane by fighting them with their own stats. However, he only did that with his Ultimate which is what made him balanced (and in the end useless). Sett however, just like you mentioned, is plain overpowered but again, if he is nerfed he will end up like Trundle. Such kits should not be pushed to live servers with such minimal thought put into them, like they did with Sett

I only find his W to be problematic, but everything else is fine imo.

This argument gets brought up literally every single champ release since the start of the game. The only exceptions have been irelia on release, i think vlad on release, bard on release, and ornn on release.

Its safe to say, the kits fine. Setts not even all that strong.

Just play blitz crank and when Sett uses W have Blitz press R.

He is op but compare to mages he is balanced and his items cost real gold while mages... they laugh at bruisers tanks and all mele champs.

It may be something unusual, but I wouldn't touch Sett or any tank or melee until all the itemization of the magicians was reworked

Malygonis3/8/2020, 1:35:00 AM1 votes

just nerf the shield he gets. he is the only champ in the game to get a shield that absurd. even if you were to build all shield strength and or full AP items on a janna or a yuumi they barely break half of what his shield gives. even if you were to build ap on shen, you could hit that high of a shield on his ult but you would sacrifice his own tankiness and effectiveness in teamfights. sett on the other hand gets all that for just building defensive. just half the amount he can shield and he would be more manageable. everytime i see him demolish a team it is because they cant shred through his shield fast enough. EVERYTIME.

He's perfectly fine with the exception of w. Nerf that a bit and he's fine. His e isn't as broken as you make it to be, his q is pretty shit. Ult is conditional. Also he's easy to deal with, sidestep w or use mobility spell, not hard. Learn to play against him before complaining
