its been a thing for like a month or two i think. maybe longer?

the reason why it pisses off laners is because the enemy jungler will spend a very long time near a single lane, while your jungler is at the exact opposite side of the map. which means your opposing laner has control over the lane the entire time. if you were to make any wrong move, the enemy jungler pops in.

it's a thing since two scuttles spawn at the same time but it just got much more popular. It's a great strat to use if you have something like jayce top and want to spend time near him early

if you were to make any wrong move, the enemy jungler pops in.

I assume its dividing a map by a midlane and farming either top side or bottom side (Including counterjungle)

u farm your botside, then go upwards and farm their jungle(or vice versa). That's why its called vertical jungling usually do it if you see the enemy go into your jungle

Couldn't mid and bot collapse on you for doing that though?

yes they can, but they usually won't if the enemy jg isn't there, because ideally your laner is keeping them busy, or would follow.
