@Riot, WHY was "oppressor" mastery removed again? whats the "real" reason?

from that patch 6.22 notes i read

Removed:Oppressor

Champions either have perma-crowd control or they don’t. How you play makes little difference when the only question is whether you can activate Oppressor or not, so we’re removing it in favor of more versatile options. See above.

NOT SO OPPRESSIVE Removed

now ok champs either have crowd control or they don't. perfect sound reasoning. I 100% agree. this mastery would be 100% worthless for anyone who does not have crowd control

now that we have established that making a mastery that is 100% worthless is a bad idea (which i agree with) and this thing needs to be removed...

question two...

new: Courage of the Colossus

Giving initiators a survivability tool in the moment they need it most: diving into the enemy team.

ARGUS Gain a shield for 7% (+7% for each additional nearby enemy champion) of your maximum health for 4 seconds after hitting an enemy champion **with hard crowd control **(30 second cooldown) GO HARD Stun, root, suppression, taunt, charm, fear, terrify, knockup, and knockback count as hard crowd control

so what exactly is going on here? what is the explanation for this.

not only did you, completely disregard your own statement that

Champions either have perma-crowd control or they don’t. How you play makes little difference when the only question is whether you can activate Oppressor or not, so we’re removing it in favor of more versatile options. See above.

by adding another mastery that ONLY champ with hard CC can use... You made it a KEYSTONE!!!

So... what am I missing? because if that is your reason... why then you would have added Courage of colossus, IN THE SAME PATCH!!!

Oppressor was just a better damage amp if you had the means to apply it. There wasn't much choice.

Keystones are meant to offer choices, they just suck at being balanced in comparison.

hes still making a good point imo.

at least you could itemize into the slows needed to trigger opressor. coc really only supports certain champions, and in many cases not even the champions its aimed at. like riven for example.

itemizing against the slows did not reduce the damage taken from them.

no, i mean the oppressor mastery was more universal, since you could itemize into cc (slows) to make it useful, even when you dont have cc in your kit.

it didnt rely on hard cc.

CoC is even more selective when it comes to the champs that can use it.

edit.: actually it didnt even rely on your own cc. the enemy could have been crippled by an ally for it to work. it only mentioned that the targets movement had to be impaired in some way.

Ahh.

It was overall damage amp.

Basically this change helped slow damage creep.
