"Use it syndrome"

"use it syndrome" is a little thing that was brought to my attention by a youtuber (forgot who) and it really hit me today. (if you are wondering it was the feeding leona who kept turret diving with her E without a team but thats besides the point). It boils down to wanting to use an ability because you have the ability to even if it is a bad situation and will end negatively. For example versions of "use it syndrome" include jumping to someone with a lee sin Q even when you dont have or a bad time, walking over to grab a thresh lantern when you are already in safety, or pretty much any time you could do something. Knowing about "use it syndrome" can be very beneficial because it helps eliminate mistakes or bad engages and makes you think about what you are going to do.

It's something that usually wares off on players as they get better and more resourceful at the game. Since you haven't asked a question I guess it's a discussion. That Leona probably thinks, "I went really good in the past game whenever I used my abilities!, I guess the same with happen if I do it again!"

I like that terminology though. "Use it syndrome". Just like LeeSyndrome a lot of the times whenever they last a longrange Q they MUST PRESS Q TO DASH IN. Even when it won't be benefical. A lot of Yasuos do that too when they hit a tornado. Probably because of all the pro player vids of people doing epic play on whole teams and ulting in dashing around and windwalling shit lol.

Totally true but bringing it up can help someone who hasn't realized it :)

Yuup. Literally saw a video where a jinx was running away from a fight and the thresh through out a lantern right behind her and she walked back into danger just to grab it. TL;DR she died xD

I'd like to point out "save it syndrome" is almost equally as annoying. Which is people who never use high cooldown abilities like flash, ults, exhausts, until they feel like it is the perfect opportunity ever. And that really minimizes the output of the champion. If the cooldowns never happen, you're also shooting yourself in the foot. People who would rather die or miss kills than flash or supports never exhausting are the most common examples of this

Absolutely true. this is more pertaining to lower CD abilities.

It all starts with learning when to use summoner 4 as well as when not to use it
