Here is an idea for how to improve the banning phase

Why not make it a group decision by taking making it similar to how the champion selection process for 1 for all is formatted (everyone votes for a champ and majority wins the ban, if no majority it is random from the choices that were selected). This way everyone at least can have there say in a ban. This would also reduce the chances of your pick intent being banned away from you unless the other members all agree that it isn't a good idea (like a veto system). Also keep the 3 bans (or more) per side.

Negative. First off, that shit would take forever. Second off, the bans are fine.

it could but you would at least have a say instead of hoping the people banning listen to you. And it does not have to take forever. If everyone has submitted a vote, then the ban will become locked in. Like it is now, the duration of each chance to ban would not change.

Not a bad idea, but that will require a lot more coding, which Riot is probably tired of doing for now. I'm sure hex-tech crafting has taken up time.

To me, it makes no sense that the 2 guys picking first on your team cant ban...soooo they are forced to pick first (increasing the chances they are just going to get counter picked) and they can't even ban their counter.

I literally CRINGE when I see top lane picking first on my team...because chances are (I am in Bronze) they are going to lose lane because they are sinply going to get counter picked and don't have any bans to help their cause. Its really stupid.

It's because of counter picks that it's like that. The first player to choose a champ gets their champ guaranteed as long as it wasn't banned. The last person has 16 champs unavailable, and they are forced into a smaller number of champs usually do to knowing who they lane against. The bans aren't so that you don't get countered, it's so that you aren't forced against someone you know you can't counter.

I've only seen one maybe two bans that went against the team's lane picks. It happens. Have a couple backups you can do well with and move on. This system is a little better than the old one, since I can at least sometimes ban a player I know is going to likely show up and mess with my strategy instead of watching one player do that for themselves, or mindlessly blot out meta picks.

I have a few back-ups, but that is me, not my team. If you know a champion that a team member wants to play does poorly vs another specific champion who will likely appear, you could give input to the bans instead of hoping they know how to play into the counter pick or know to ban that champ. Think of it as a safety net for each member on the team to catch each other's ignorance (not having the knowledge, not just dumb).

Sounds like a communication and agreeability issues. There's a lot of time for that discussion. In the end, it is what it is. But making it a more political process than a steamlined one will just be more convoluted and probably incite more trolling. Ideally, ideas like yours would work and everyone would be happy. But, probably not so much with the community at large.
