Yeah riot, akali is probably the worst design this game has ever seen.

The old, full point and click akali FELT BETTER TO PLAY AGAINST than the new one, thats how low it got.

It sucks for mains (their champ is permabanned even with a very low win rate), and it sucks for the ppl who have to play against her (no counterplay laning pattern, very unfun to play against as almost any champion in the game in lane and as squishies out of lane) thanks to her uncounterable mechanics like the true stealth bullshit.

The only problem with new Akali is her new shroud. It's the kind of thing where Riot just had to make it unique even at the cost of game health.

Aside from shroud, the rest of her kit has more interesting gameplay and more counterplay compared to her old boring point and click kit.

ALL OF HER ABILITYS ARE POINT AND CLICK. there was NO OUTPLAY, if she felt you were a good pick and she had a couple of kills, you were most likely dead meat. with her new kit, she provides a little counter play.

not enough.

but better then before.

no point and click atleast.

Old akali couldnt tower dive with her shroud, it was smaller, she was weaker pre 6, basically her kit had counterplay, even if all her damage was more or less targeted, old akali had around a 50% wr and almost 0% ban rate, because unless overtuned (then she would just statcheck everything to death) she was actually possible to play against.

The new akali has skillshots but her trading/lane pattern has no counterplay, and nether has the obscured stealth, not even towers can do anything about it.

Her shroud mechanics need reworked. Make her targetable under towers, hell give her the middle portion to stealth in too if it meant reducing its total smoke screen size for all I care, I just don't want zoned off by akali because I can't hit her and she can hit me.

..and she needs a new Q, I fucking hate her Q in lane. You can sidestep zed and ekko's range, or trigger minion aggro with kassadin and LB, but Akali's Q doesn't trigger aggro, has a wide hitbox, the only thing it lacks is range but considering how threatening she is, you can't really fight her for walking up and she has so many tools to disengage/continue zoning for a melee. You could just walk up, Q, shroud and just camp the opponent's side of the shroud (which extends way too fucking far) to prevent continue poking them with no punishment, considering its low CD and shroud for some reason gives energy, she can chunk you in lane for free pretty much.. the only option is blind guessing where is in the shroud as a mage and landing skillshots, again, easier said then done due to vision advantage.
