Riot Employee Responding About Karma. It's Rude.

A recent Riot Employee went on stream and he was asked a question about Karma. He was first asked a question about Soraka that he spent 5 minuets talking about and then he responded to a question about Karma in a very rude and insulting tone.

"Question : why did mid lane Karma get nerfed because of her prescience top lane, yet afterwards top lane got buffed twice while mid karma was never problematic to begin with?"

He responded with something like this :

"I'm not gonna answer any questions about Karma 'cause I feel like it's a trap, so don't talk about it because I won't answer. I feel like there are still Karma mains from 8 years ago who were like 'give us shieldbomb !' and 'where are her fans!' so yeah I'm not gonna talk about Karma "

=========

So Riot thinks building AP on Karma is a issue. Riot thinks having conflicting gameplay identities and too much to cater to, is a issue. Riot thinks having Karma in the midlane and as a mage, is a issue. Riot thinks having Karma in the top lane is a issue. Riot thinks this champion has a lot of issues but this really isn't even any of her issues:

  • No gameplay identity and she seems to be failing at everything she's supposed to be doing compared to other champions.
  • Players like playing Karma in a solo lane atmosphere just as much as they do as a support. Yet, time and time again she is CONSTANTLY hated and ignored by Riot for the same buffs and that get nerfed and have abilities removed because "catering to the support role" is what Karma mains want.
  • She's incredibly bland and not interesting. There is no skill expression, skill, and anything that makes this champion unique. Karma's Mantra E literally exists on two item actives.
  • Incomplete and bland art assets that were never completed and a model that was rushed and incomplete to begin with 7 years ago. When you compare Karma to the awesome models, VO, and artwork from other games and media . . . . . where did they go wrong 7 years ago?

==========

From the response of this Developer and so many other ones for the past 7 years, it seems like they just really don't care. No one likes playing as Karma when she is overbuffed and meta and no one likes playing against her either. Karma mains don't like how one dimensional and bland her kit is, but Riot refuses to do anything other than buff and then immediately nerf something about her. I reached a point the past few years that I don't care what they do with her anymore, just give her a direction with more flavor in her kit and work on the art assets you couldn't be bothered to deal with. If Karma is supposed to be a Support, give us something else to do with her than sitting in the backline and pressing Mantra E (where the effect exists on two item actives and gives no real point to playing Karma) and half healthing a squishy enemy with Mantra Q that is WAY to strong because she has nothing else in her kit with damage.

I mean, is he wrong? It is a trap. No matter what he says you guys will be unhappy, unless he's giving you shield bomb back.

Congratulations OP, you are the person the rioter was talking about. You just proved them right.

Yeah, like, I actually agree with the Rioter and I don't think it was particularly rude. Everything he said is... exactly how it is. The Karma community is mad about their champion not being the way they want but they all have a whole load of different ways that they want him changed. The only thing they agree on is that they're angry about the fact that the champion received changes and now they want more changes. Whatever direction you want to go in, it's wrong with the Karma community and that makes talking about her a trap.

EDIT: And isn't this post EXACTLY what he was talking about? You don't need to post the same old rhetoric over and over again - half of these are buzzword issues, "muh feelings" or straight propaganda every time that Karma is mentioned. It is IMPOSSIBLE for Karma to come up in a discussion without someone going "Riot hates Karma; champion isn't finished".

Karma mains are the only group I know that's been consistently more toxic than Wu mains.

I want Top lane Eve Evelynn back, but it's never going to happen, her hate spike used to counter Garren amazingly well.
