Why does it seem like Aram one sided stomps are 100x more often/worse than ever?

Ever since these recent patches hit... I've only played maybe 3 ARAM games out of probably 60+, that wasn't a completely, undeniable, absolute one sided stompfest

Whether it was my side that was doing the stomping, or the enemies, it's gotten very very boring, and pointless. This is an absolutely unmistakeable change from how aram was before... one sided stomps did occur, but NO WHERE NEAR this often, or as bad when they did happen.

And when I say one sided stomp... I mean it's literally decided before the match even begins, with no chance whatsoever for the one losing side to play exceptionally well and maybe do ok if they play safe (which WAY less people are doing now for some reason too), or come back after an early domination.

And I know some people are going to downvote and say "but it's aram brehhhh". But let me ask those people, what's the point in a game mode that's supposed to be casual fun, that now suddenly is no longer fun for anyone, on either side?

Yeah, noticed the same pattern more than once, comp such as :

3 adc 1 mage 1 tank

3 tanks 1 adc 1 supp

And on the enemy team / ally team, you have picks like Mordekaiser Olaf Udyr AurelionSol Trundle

Yeah, noticed this, too. I upvoted your post. On the one hand, it makes for much faster games, which is lovely for grinding. On the other hand...yeah, god-awful boring, regardless which side you're on.

Nahhhhhh. Hard disagree. I find Aram to be far more tolerable than SR.

If you're gonna get stomped, you will get stomped in 10-15 mins guaranteed. If game is going past 20, it'll probs go past 25.

I find the constant fights and the random champions to MUCH more helpful to improving my skill than beating your lane with your favorite champ, pushing it out, and then going to your botlane inhibitor to defend it against the 50/2 enemy carry.

except that the point of my post had nothing whatsoever to do with SR

this was not a comparison of "how tolerable aram is overall vs SR"... this is a comparison of new aram, vs old aram. so you're essentially disagreeing with something you just made up in your head...

Hrm, I have actually had a lot of really good back and forth games. Towers go down fast, but I once it gets down to nexus there have been some great stalls and comebacks.

Edit> Just had another for my first game of the morning. Got pushed down to last turret with only a sliver of life left in it, and then came back with some great team play to win it.

Their (little) efforts to fix this game mode haven't been enough, mostly because:

  1. unbalanced champions, meaning that some champs are useless in Aram, and other ones are just disgusting, especially if they can make a game just an obnoxious spam fiesta.
  2. Aram accounts, full of those champions from point 1. 3) Absurd, broken, out-of-control DAMAGE, that in Aram is even worse (and they are making it worse patch after patch).

(and don't forget the "50% WR matchmaking")

Because they made the discard pool, people just draft good teams and stomp the other one

They kinda ruined ARAM with this update, they also re-added Warmogs for some reason so ZZZzzz...

Ya I don't really remember anyone ever asking for a change like that. There's quite a bit of other things people asked for in aram, but afaik this wasn't one of them. And even if some people did ask for it, it was not a healthy change.

ive noticed the no tower down phase tends to be longer but once one tower goes down that team generally wins

really? i've never played an aram that wasn't a "one sided stompfest"

doesn't help that i haven't had an account over level 25 in the past year, i guess

I feel like, the advantage one side has, is generally pretty obvious.

But when I get the weaker team, I do generally still find entertainment in trying to fight the odds. It has to be an extreme stomp before I get bored or annoyed.

USG Failsawce1 votes

the point was that there are far more boring "extreme stomps" (the definition of one-sided stomps..) than ever before. not that when losing a close match it's not fun...

yea its kinda insane. as soon as one side gets a lead they just snowball the hell out of the team. also whats with the towers doing so little damage its kinda pointless.
