Shunpo's cast time - The Formal Approach

As it may appear my fellow League of Legends players, Katarina's Shunpo has a dashing (hehe get it?) cast time that causes her to be a lot less fun than what many may think.

Her daggers already do a splendid job of outlining her intentions and provide enough counterplay for her opponent to recognise what is going on. It is because of this that this rather silly cast time has no quantifiable reason to exist.

Mmm yes, and if you guessed that her animation was ripped directly from her Dominion point capture animation you would be correct. Such an animation displays how little work was put into the creation of this "new" Shunpo.

Now, if that wasn't enough reason for this cast time to not exist we now also have it dealing next to no damage. Yes, 15-75 base damage is not an impressive number for a champion such as Katarina, who should thrive in the heat of battle, but that she cannot because of that silly little cast time on Shunpo which stops her almost completely in her tracks in the middle of a fight.

Now then, in all seriousness Katarina is not a fun champion as it stands, almost purely due to Shunpo's cast time following her rework. No Kat mains who are actually semi-good at the game are enjoying her rework at all primarily due to this very factor. She's already a troll pick in elos where your opponents are completely idiotic, at the very least she could be fun to pilot while being an awful champion.

Godspeed.

P.S: Shunpo actually means "Flash Step" which defines a user of this technique moving "faster than the human eye can see". Soooo uhhh yeah, that's a big oof right there when it has quite the cast time.

You.. want to buff Katarina?

Not exactly. Removing/Lowering the cast time on Shunpo is more or less a QoL change as opposed to a buff. The change it would make to what her opponents would have to deal with would pretty much be the same due to daggers still having a drop time, but for the Katarina player it would feel waaaayyyy better to actually pilot.

Although now that you mention it some early game buffs would be kinda nice. Nothing too drastic to make her like how she was on rework release, but just something to make her relevant in laning again.
