Balance between tanks and bruisers
Since the latest tanks rework classic bruisers have been mostly replaced by tanks.
Those characters that were formerly played as bruisers (e.g.
) are now played as slightly more tanky assassins.
The reason being: Tanks like
or
simply outtrade bruisers builds in 1on1 situations (for most of the game).
Which also means that bruisers have reduced jungling potential in addition to less teamfight utility.
I do believe tanks should be viable in the meta. But so should bruisers.
Instead of a flat number nerf to tanks, I would like to see base damage being shifted from "against everything" to "bonus damage against monsters" in order to allow tanks to keep their jungle clear, but also allow bruisers to regain their role as (non-assassin) melee duelists who have a slight 1on1 jungling advantage, compensating for their worse teamfight performance.
This would allow tanks to stay durable CC bots, keep their jungle clear - but allow a more varied champion pool to be viable.
