I understand that she was over performing at upper levels of play, but only in the hands of those who knew how to play her. She needed some balancing, but she did not deserve to be hard gutted. She is now on par with Miss Fortune support. Let that sink in for a moment. Yuumi, a champion meant to be played as a support and nothing else is about as effective at her job as an ADC attempting to support.

Yuumi is pretty damn strong, even now. I don't know where you're getting that she's in the gutter. My best guess is that you're an aggressive type who wants to go for the early kills, and Yuumi isn't as good at that anymore. But there's far more to supporting than that. I'd argue that's not even really supporting. The essence of support is and has always been "Keep Your Carry Alive". Yuumi is still pretty superb at doing that.
Chalze1 votesI mean, any champion based on a specific gimmick will always be a balance nightmare. Kalista who is based on her hopping mechanic is a balance nightmare even until now, where she's now only "fine" in pro play but non-existent in casual. Yuumi being based on "attaching" herself (ESPECIALLY if it makes her functionally untargetable) will always be abused by pros in one way or another. She'd be much easier to balance if she didn't have the attachment gimmick. Pyke's gimmick is to generate gold as an assassin support and he would be a balance nightmare if Riot isn't so eager to see him in Worlds. Hell, Yasuo's gimmick is double crit chance or infinite dashes. How much you wanna bet he would've been way easier to balance had he not have those mechanics? Sylas has the gimmick of stealing ultimates and he's been pretty much a balance issue too. Ornn still sees balance changes to this day revolving around his item upgrade mechanic.
