Jinx and Attack Speed vs Varus and Passive

Anyone else think her attack speed is a little faster than others? Like, I know that her AS bonus for each level-up is lower than all others, but her Q' passive makes up for it by stacking up to 30/55/80/105/130% bonus AS.

So Jinx has 0.625 at level 1. With this passive, after 3 stacks, she will have 0.813 AS at level 1.

But what about at level 18? And without items, and by now, Q is all leveled-up. So, she has 0.738. And with her passive, she is granted 1.7 AS right there with no added items.

Varus, who should be all about AS, cannot be able to use his passive in a team fight like Jinx can. He must instead rely on his other abilities. But what of the passive? Well, to be honest, its actually not useful. We've gotten to a time where kills are harder to get, and Varus won't be able to just come in and kill everything. The AS for his passive should be a permanent stack of up to 40% bonus. With each minion kill, he receives +1%, with larger minions he gains +1.5%, with monsters he will gain +4%, with assists Varus gains +5%, and with kills Varus receives +10%. When dead, he loses either all or half of his stacks.

Jinx has atrocious AS per level scaling, which is how they make her Q so good without breaking the champion.

Varus isn't really supposed to be all about AS. He's supposed to be an AD caster focused on doing huge damage with his abilities. He does need buffs.

you have to consider that to stack her attack speed jinx has to get within minigun AA range to attack. considering she has ~700 range on her level 5 rockets and she has no mobility, this is a huge risk for her. the higher return is because of that risk.

She doesn't need to shoot champions though to get the attack speed buff though. Can easily be clearing a wave of minions right before the fight or a quick few AAs at a jungle camp. Can most likely start off a fight with the rocket launcher then swap to minigun as soon as someone gets within range and with any AS item she'll have max stacks in seconds. She also may be imobile but she has 2 abilities to help peel for herself + any of her allies. As soon as she gets a kill or assist though, that mobility issue is negligible thanks to her passive.

As for the varus passive. If anything it should be a scaling/stack passive that falls off when not attacking. Similar to jinx but more bonus AS when you get minion/monster kill and double bonus on champ kill/assist

Of course she can work around it, but the fact is that her attack speed buff comes from a 525 range auto. The rocket launcher doesn't benefit from stacks beyond the first auto so if she wants to use her attack speed buff she has to get within a dangerous range of her opponent to do so.

Varus has 575 base range so he can use his passive from a much safer distance. He also has far better in-combat CC than Jinx which can extend to the entire enemy team if used properly. His passive is about as reliable as Jinx's, but it's also very strong. Regardless, most of Varus's damage comes from his W procs on Q or E. He deals sizeable burst from huge range which allows him to (hopefully) pop his passive right as a fight begins.

They're just very different champions. Varus is more of an AD caster while Jinx is very auto attack reliant. She needs the attack speed as an integral part of her kit.

second this one. I'm currently working on ADC and Jinx is my planned main. She does have her W which is a weak slow, but other than that and her ult everything is an AA. The mini-gun stacking is sometimes the only way she can get her attack speed up enough to have a real effect as the rockets are incredibly slow to fire after the first one. I find that building attack speed for her is something I regularly do to make up for her slow base attack speed. The minigun stacks are fun, but she is one of the shorter ranged ADCs when using her minigun.

There's nothing wrong with Jinx.

There might be something wrong with Varus though, just started a thread with a change suggestion.
