I was like "holy christ this zed is bad and is literally feeding" Straight up for a long time he was 0/4/0 then i worked my ass off to get him fed. Only to see that lux and zed are an ENTIRE division apart. Like are you fucking joking.. I know matchmaking is trash but i really just autolost a game because they just dont know how to fix it i guess..

The Zed was Plat for the last two seasons and ended last season in plat 4. The Lux was Plat for previous seasons, and ended last season in Plat 3 and is Platinum 5. Also, Zed is barely past his placement games, basically just plays random modes now, and has played mostly Marksmen ADCs in his ranked history.
That should clarify the "why" of the things that happened and why it is not, specifically, matchmaking being badly made. Even though the result sucks for you.

Garen most likely had lower MMR while Aatrox had higher. If Garen sits at a G4 rating and Aatrox at G5 they could easily match together.
Remember, the rank you seen doesnt matter as much as the hidden MMR

It was bad luck that you happened to queueing when a guy decided to play one of his maybe three a month ranked games instead of the only ARAM he does now. That's unfortunate.
You could look at it that it isn't coincidence and there's a reason that the positive winrate Silver 1 player gets put into a gold game opposite a Silver 2 who is duoing with the aforementioned Gold 2 in the dead of night on a Thursday. Sorry you're not getting W's but, yeah.

its not bad luck the MM is blind to this type of stuff and treats it almost like a regular mmr account, I've lost hundreds of LP to preliminary or overly fresh accounts that need to not queue ranked.
you get tons of these in that defaulting range so you're stuck grinding, its really annoying

It wasn't a fresh account. This has nothing to do with this. "that need to not queue ranked." So if the account does not have ranked games on it, it needs to not queue into ranked. Do you see how this doesn't work?

Veshti1 votesIt's worse when you're the Bronze against the Gold because riot has decided that you somehow have similar match MMR. It's just a waiting game at that point to see how long it takes before one of your teammates decides that you're a bot or some other random insult. It's kind of like Bingo. Will it be under 10 minutes? Will my teammates think I'm being sarcastic when I announce that I'm Bronze and I'm going to die? Will they still be shocked when it's true in chat after the game? Who will accuse me of trolling first? Who is going to realize that I'm not trolling and give me pity honor?
Yeah, they really should fix the system.
