"DQ reduces toxicity"

Here is how my last 3 games in plat 4 went:

  1. boosted 3 man, each of whom went approximately 1/7, flamed and blamed the two solo players for the loss

  2. Enemy team had a premade that was actually good. They stomped us hard. Not really any flaming, but an entirely negative experience regardless

  3. one of our teammates was lagging bad and it rekt us hard. But this didn't stop one of our teammates from calling for reports in all chat starting roughly at the 5 minute mark, and ofc, what ranked game would be complete without a "gg ez" at the end from a team that won solely because one of our players literally couldn't move when teamfights started.

I'm sick of this shit, Riot. I play ranked for the competitive nature. I am a very competitive person, and when you force me to deal with shit like this, I will get toxic. Since getting into plat, I got my first chat ban in well over a year (a good achievement for me, btw, as I used to be a huge asshole in this game). DQ brings out the absolute worst in me, and I'm sure this is true for many others. The ranked experience is entirely negative. Even when I win, I don't feel any sense of accomplishment, because I know that it's likely due to a trash premade or boosted animals on the enemy team. Ranked is NOT fun, it's NOT competitive, and it is DEFINITELY more toxic than last season. Stop defining toxicity by ban percentages and report volume, and wake up and realize that toxicity is anything that ultimately detracts from a positive gaming experience. When you follow this more correct definition of toxicity, DQ is the single most toxic thing in League of Legends. Do something about it.

Well, there's a lot of toxic kids brute forcing as premades to climb and believe their behavior is acceptable. They chew though 'friends' and get boosted from the very people that carry them after abusing them after a bad game, so when they hit the ceiling they are completely trash with no game knowledge.

Their goal was to reach plat, so now you're seeing these baddies.

I'm aware of this phenomenon. What I'm saying is that Riot is willfully creating an ever increasingly toxic environment that punishes solo players (and virtually everyone, for that matter) and then further punishes us when we lose our shit for having to deal with it. It's classic Riot logic of "it's not our fault the community is toxic, it's your behavior that causes problems".

It's not really an intentional design, it's players breaking things. Especially the previously banned ones.

They have focused on high elo to implement solo queue, with the success of dynamic launch. The problem with dynamic is expecting that it solves the subtle underlying problems that are dismissed as outliers, false equivalencies, and generally relying on a chess system when the equivalent in League would not be knowing what a "horsey piece" does.

There -is- a cultural problem with attempting to help people, because often it just bites back. The gaze on the newbie is generally silence from thatand then they believe that they can be skilled when they just pick up kills. This is a really bad idea and as a result you get X keystone / 2 runepage / 1 champion ranked players and generally near-automated losses simply because this player should have hit a barrier before ranked.

People that legitimately earn it by playing lots of games are being mocked by people who might have not earned a gold ranking in years. Its cruel to the mid skill players in general.
