i never get shocked but i wear rubber soled shoes and make sure im always grounded

Why would you wear rubber shoes then intentionally ground yourself anyway? The point of the rubber shoes is to stay insolated

apparently you dont work with high voltage... i do ... 300 volts on hybrid cars

I do and 300 is actually really low for a hybrid. If you ground yourself you are giving electricity a path to flow which means you're going to get zapped. You intentionally insulate yourself from ground to avoid this. No path to flow, no current. Voltage isnt what shocks you. Current is.
