Is it worth upgrading Frostfang into Remnant of the Watchers?

Is it really all that effective to upgrade it? From what I can see, you're spending 950 gold for 15AP and 200 health, neither of which are a lot, nor from what I can gather, is worth the 950 gold. Isn't it far more efficient to use this 950 on let's say an extra component item for another item? 200 health and 15AP is literally the only difference as far as I can see. I'm asking this because if you take a look at my match history, unless I have full build everywhere else, my Frostfang just remains as Frostfang in like, every game for some time since that 950 gold just seems so much more useful elsewhere.

Am I missing something??? And yes, this is assuming I've reached the 500 gold quest in all games.

It's not efficient until late game when having a 4th ward can be game deciding. Early game when you're backing more and your team has more yellow trinkets it's not worth.

The Ruby Crystal is HP which is always nice so I guess the question really is. Is the 550 worth it?

Bonuses you get are +1 ward (~75g), 50 HP (133.33G) and 15 AP (326.25g) About 534.58g

So technically the 550 is slightly under value, but the consolidation of the ruby crystal could be that 15.5g value? Or you could just negate it.

I've seen both sides of this argument already and both make sense. MY general veiw is this.

If you stay on the map for a long time buy it. If you base a lot or need a critical item (like when ardent was popular) then skip it.

I may be misremembering, but it might also give you another stack from auto attacking champs/turrets.

It's the 4th item I complete often, I feel 950 gold massively offsets enchanter/dmg purchases. Enchanter purchases are too gold efficient to offset, Damage purchases are too expensive to offset. When you have the items to be useful, that's when I get the 4 ward item.

950 gold takes a lot of time for a support to accumulate

I almost always upgrade. Most of the time it's usually my first completed item unless for some reason I'm extremely ahead and then have something else that can help more, but Vision is always import so I get it done fast.

Well lets see, if you are a tank ap support like Bard than yes this is a decent item. If you are champs like brand morg or zyra than you should just keep the frostfang. item 3098
