Problem with lethality
Your squishy target can rush
and negate it.
It shouldn't scale up. If you have it, you have it.
It's annoying as an assassin to deal with
marksman.

I feel one of the main problems with Lethality is that it's a more contrived and opaque way of just adding more raw damage. Initially there was some justification, because Riot wanted the stat to scale based on enemy level as a means of decreasing the binariness of assassins, but at this point Lethality is a mess, offering armor penetration specifically designed against squishies, all hidden behind a stat that does not accurately convey just how much armor pen it gives (Lethality is a static stat, whereas the armor pen it offers increases with level). You could very well just give more AD instead and it would achieve much of the same effect, by offering additional damage that would get reduced primarily with armor purchases.
I honestly don't know what Riot's thinking is. I thought their philosophy was for assassin update with counterplay was "burst with a brief delay" (via their kit) but with Lethality they are just taking away the burst.
