I feel it's entirely my fault.
When I have the level and gold advantage over the other 9 players and I'm playing a champ like 
I feel the game can be completely decided by my actions, especially if my team isn't being completely destroyed.
How can I have total control of the match and we lose? Clearly, I prioritized wrong. I don't know what I need to start doing right, but I guess I'll start rising in ranks when I do.

I like to set up waves to push into the enemy, and then rotate to the opposite side of the map. I'll get a decent wave bot, base, and then go shove top. Dip in and out of clearing the minions top, and someone will come top to stop you, but also go bot to get farm. Makes it much easier to take that loner out at top lane knowing that other players have to go deal with the lane you set up prior.

I only learnt this recently from phylol, about slowpushing. It's like setting off a Yorick maiden in a lane, except without the maiden. And if that gets ignored, you get a huge wave to tank turret with.
Done252 votesThere is one thing and only one thing that wins the match. Killing the enemy nexus. Any champ that can easily kill dragon/baron/towers on their own will carry you far. Since you seem to like top lane, might I suggest Trundle? Nasus is also a good pick if you can survive his weak lane phase.
Yorick would be great as well if his Q worked on towers. Riot is so inconsistent...

In this meta, all that matters is getting your ADC fed. You can be 20/0 and still lose if their ADC is better than yours when they hit late game at 15 minutes. A two item ADC will wreck anything in terms of damage output.
In other words, ADC is the only class capable of carrying. Everything else has been nerfed to trash by Riot.

Tank junglers dropped down following item nerfs and seju nerfs.
Now botlane has a lot more aggressive supports like leo, zyra or blitz again.
Lee sin is once again going towards the top of the jungle.
Toplane will most likely see an influx of Fiora´s sometime soon.
And strong mages are still hella powerful, a good Ori,vel koz or Syndra can easily carry a game against any team that doesn't focus everything on endurance aka barriers and sustain.
The only really OP things remaining in the botlane are Twitch and static shiv.

Quepha1 votesPretty much all of those champs should be splitting when ahead. That gives you massive control over the pacing of the game and is the best way to leverage your lead. Whether you should then use your push to tp into a fight, flank, or just directly take a tower depends on the champion and situation.

Honestly, in this case either u were dumb, either it was ur team. But its very rare to have TOTAL control.
Clearly, I prioritized wrong. I don't know what I need to start doing right, but I guess I'll start rising in ranks when I do.
Start by stopping ur BS. Your BS here is too play 6 champ !!! play 2 champ max until u get gold. At the end of each game take a break of 10-15 min... mainly when its a lose. At the end of each... ask yourself what's u could do better (use replay or play tv ).
And most of all : keep ur composure, don't blame ur mate, mute them if they start to argue among them or flame u.
THE REAL MOST IMPORTANT THING : Mute all if someone ask u to build tank when u play Wukong
