your jobs as a team is to make it so everyone gets a role they can play and to make the best team possible with the given players

if your first pick and your amazing at adc and mid and you pick mid because "your First pick" and your duo goes top because "he wants top"

and someone else is amazing at mid and top but cant ADC to save thier life.

and you force that person to go ADC becuase "you wanted mid" and your buddy "wanted top" and that person forced to go adc ended up feeding bot when they clearly stated they cant adc in champ select. then its YOUR fault they fed. not theirs.. because you decided to not work as a team and give everyone a role they can play.

that is why people CALL ROLES

teamwork starts in champ select.

You should learn to play all the roles, otherwise you can just go in teambuilder. It is there for a reason.

Even LCS pros who put in hours and hours and hours into their game aren't masters of every role. It is always in your best interest to ensure everyone gets a role they are comfortable with, even if that means you get your #2 role instead of your #1 role.

you dont need to master every role and even the pros had to play every lane at some point. Hell if you watch their streams they are not always in the lane they play professionally.

So, you expect other people to conform to the roles you are good at by playing the roles they have bothered to learn but you have not?

I'm sorry, but your argument is hypocritical af. Team work does in fact starts in champion select. Covering your team by learning lanes and match-ups for each role is part of the preparation for that team work to happen.

If you want to play ranked, learn at least 3 roles and a couple champions for each of them, and get some basic knowledge of all 5 roles. If you are not willing to learn these roles, don't expect others to either.

One of the major reasons people get stuck in low ELO, and that low ELO is referred to as ELO hell because players are incapable of playing more than 1 role, and sometimes more than 1 champion.

You are as much to blame for this as anyone else is. It is your responsibility (and everyone else's as a team) to ensure everyone gets the best possible role they can play. If someone's reasoning is "I'm first pick" then you need to remind them that it is in their best interest to ensure everyone can play something they know how to play.

It is never any one person's fault that they're feeding, unless they're feeding intentionally. While someone might have made mistakes that put them behind, the only reason they're continuing to do poorly is because that person is not on a team, but on a group of individuals. If someone on your team is doing poorly, help them. Shut down that 2/0 Vayne before she goes 11/0 and 1v5 pentas your team. Give your 0/2 Orianna a blue buff so she can actually waveclear properly. Roam top and 3v1 push the top tower if your bot tower is about to fall. You can always do something better than point fingers and say "he's feeding" or "team too heavy" etc. etc. etc.

I think what he is trying to say, which I do all the time, is: Say you are first pick, and you do well at top and jungle, so you say that. Someone calls adc, someone calls support and someone else says they can only top. Instead of just taking top lane because you feel like it, work around your team and play another role you are good at if someone else can only play 1 role. I think that is his message, which I somewhat understand. Though I don't agree with only being able to do one or two roles. I will usually say "top and jungle pref", though if I'm last pick I usually play what is left (support 9 times out of 10) because I've learned the basic understandings and have a rune/mastery page for each role.

this has nothing to do with people only being about to play 1 or two roles.. its about giving players the roles they are BEST. obviously if the person cant play ADC then DON'T make him adc.

did i REALLY have to go and say he can play EVERY roles except ADC and the first guy could play every role.. and the next guy could play EVERY role.

honestly my post is simple.. if someone calls a role or multiple roles.. its becuase they want those roles...

obviously if 4 people want mid.. thier not all goign to go mid.. so then you find out what other roles they can play.. and you try to give each person a role whitch they are competent with.. i started this thread with an extreme example..

if someone says they DON'T play ADC.. then for the love of god DON'T MAKE THEM ADC, are you people trying to lose? every player should be able to play at least 2 roles.. preferably 3.

but even if they play FOUR out of the 5 roles... i have STILL see games where people are too arrogant to let them get ANY of those 4 roles.
