Had a game today where a support decided to queue up as "bot" thinking he was going bottom lane. Now all did work out as our actual support decided to go ADC but I think "Bot" should be changed to Marksman for more clarity and also bot is technically not a role since it consists of two players.

The meta has the possibility of shifting in the future, and ADC+Support was not always bot lane.
Honestly, it's basically the same as teambuilder. You chose a lane and position, but now position has been cut out and now you pick a lane. It's not rocket science, as long as you read what lanes are available it doesn't take a genius to figure out that bot lane is for the bot lane carry since support is distinct and separate.

I think it would be better if we encourage people to read and think instead of having everything spelled out for them. Also the reason for not having it as ADC is because riot is trying to shit the meta to ADCs in solo lanes and bot comps might start having APCs bot with a support and so forth.

and yes.. I love to play AP Teemo or AP Kennen bot. They're still marksman.. but I have trouble with them top, but an easy time bot..

The Bearded Bard4 votesAbsolutely not. Marksman is a role, not a position. You can play marksman top, bot, jungle, or mid. Just like the options for mid is mid, not assassin or mage or whatever. The reason support is there is because support is a role and a position. That being said, support isn't required to go bot lane. Supports can go top, mid, bot, they can even follow their jungle around, so long as they're supporting the team.

Riot will try to get Morde back in the bot lane carry position, and they will try to bring non-AD champions there as well. Eventually they'll need a generic name for the carry of the bot lane, so why not make it now?

Pretty much everyone doesn't like Riot enforcing a meta. People like to be able to do other things and not get reported for it. Hence they and I disagree with you. I mean this system even fails to account for the chance for double jungle ever emerging somehow.
