Supports, don't abandon your ADC to 1v2

Are you insane? Leaving the squishiest, easiest to pick-off or to bully out of lane role to fend for themselves in a 1v2? And against a likely combo of champions who have good forms of either poke, sustain, hard cc or all 3. You are just asking to forfeit that lane (and likely the game). Unless they are Ezreal Caitlyn or Lucian maybe, who can somewhat defend themselves to an extent, that ADC will not survive long or they will be so far behind on farm they are basically permanently out of the game. Roaming (camping) mid lane is the wrong answer. Camp bot lane with the ADC if you need to camp somewhere. Only roam when your ADC can go with you or is backing or if they are in no immediate danger (if the enemy backed).

But dont you even think about abandoning them to 1v2 without them saying so.

Supports do what they want, they don't HAVE to do anything. But they do, and the adc should appreciate them. No support is going to up and leave an initiation to roam mid. But if it's a casual farm lane and you're under your turret and they wanna try and grab that early lead by helping out mid lane or the jungler, then why not? They don't have to baby sit your adc 24/7. I support sometimes and I get fed up with adcs doing trash, but hey... I can cope, I do the same thing and my supports stick it out with me. By that notion, I should do that same.

But never once have I thought that the support was ONLY there for me. The support is the team's supportive structure and as much as people hate to admit it, supports are the pillars for the team.

While yes they do have the right to aid other lanes, if the tower is constantly being damage because of the 1v2, they should be there to help out.

While yes his passive is important to get, there is a time when to do so. Not during even lanes, or when pushed. Best time is to get them on your way back to lane, or once the threat is gone, like if the enemy backed or is pushed under their own tower.

Yeah, no. If were getting dumped on 2v2 and I feel like my time would be better used somewhere else, I'll let the wave push into our tower, say i'm leaving, then split to do whatever it is I can to help our mid/jungle.

Do you want to lose towers? Because that is how you lose towers.

Chances are if were getting dumped on then were going to lose tower first either way. Better to do something useful while losing tower than just standing there and watching it happen. This is coming from the viewpoint of someone who does not play ranged supports other than Bard and Thresh so take that into account when I say standing and watching it happen.

This implies that ADC's can order supports around...?

Anyway, all I'm going to say is that it really depends on the scenario in question. As a support main, I usually leave lane and roam when 1) my ADC has secured a significant lead and shows behaviors that will not lead to them immediately feeding to the jungler or enemy bot lane if I leave, 2) my ADC is doing too poorly for me to make a difference and they just need to afk farm but the enemy bot lane doesn't have heavy engage so I don't make a difference in their safety so I can leave lane just fine, or 3) my ADC is doing fine enough that they can be left alone for five minutes while I help either the jungler secure neutral objectives or help a specific struggling lane.

If one of those three factors are not present, I will usually stay in bot lane with the ADC unless I'm warding dragon. I would say that's reasonable.

Agreed fully, and what I meant was that you need to let them know and say they can handle the 1v2 for a bit and know to play a bit safer. Don't just leave them unannounced.

I usually just ping where I going, like most people do when leaving lane.

I'd like to say I'm a competent support. If I left the ADC, they're either a big boy who doesn't need a babysitter (anymore) or they've resigned to their fate. Typically the former, hence my confidence ;)

#ADC, don't wander underneath the enemy turret when I am buying, roaming, or helping the jungler being invaded on.

It's a nice consideration. Sometimes I do abandon my ADC (to help out Mid or whatever) because I think they will be fine after we got a double kill and are ahead or something. I try to leave based on feel, but my feels are sometimes off. I also try to return to them if I sense trouble, but sometimes I'm slow.

if you see your support roam or ward, then please back off and farm safe, don't come blaming to me for your death

It kinda depends. Some matchups can turn 2v1 into a living hell, while some others won't do much.

Though if I see any dumb enemy support doing that, please don't come back so my ADC can collect more freelo [slayer-jinx-wink]
