And this is despite the fact that a few days ago they said it is literally so broken that they're gonna do a temp hotfix and then nerf it properly in 7.5

"We're going to see if we can pull a nerf for Edge of Night forwards into 7.4, or at least do a low risk hotfix the same day 7.4 hits. Urgency on that feels high enough at this point we don't think we should wait another patch."

I mean he was even talking about "nerfs that will replace the hotfix" yet.... The hotfix never happened.

"Reducing the duration (7s? 5s?) is one of the possible nerfs we're looking at for 7.5. Possible we replace the hotfix nerf with something like that (changing CD or AD takes a simpler type of hotfix than changing buff duration so we're looking at those to minimize risk)."

What the fuck Meddler? Why is there no hotfix? Why do we have to play with this shit for another 2 weeks when you yourself have admitted it is bullshit?

EDIT: I'm leaving this thread up just as an example of the shitstorms that can brew, so that.... Maybe they'll hotfix the patch notes next time, and not just the item:

Heck even just adding "Last minute edit: temp edge of night hotfix coming in a couple days" shouldn't even be hard to localize into other language, and gets the point across and prevents a shitstorm from happening.

why would they update the patch notes when the hotfix hasn't been applied yet? that would be them giving false information and having players be all "welp this item's effect is a heck of a lot shorter and has bigger CD!... wait why is this not falling off yet? and why does he has it up again!?"

They could update them saying "a hotfix is coming"

Because currently they say "no changes until 7.5" which is *gasp* FALSE INFORMATION

or they could just do the exact same thing they have done with every single hotfix which is they just update the thing when the hotfix is applied! they aren't giving you any false information because if they said that a hotfix is coming but then they catch a massive bug for said hotfix then they would not be doing said hotfix so guess what? that would indeed be false information. With telling you that "no changes until next patch" it pretty much lowers your expectations and are not relying on some random hotfix that you have no idea when it's coming out but now you have an actual timeline of when you could be expecting changes at the latest.

Actually in the real world, for a marketing company I used to work for, if something changed after the email blasts were already scheduled then that change would have to be applied and the emails rescheduled for the affected cities so that we didn't send false information to thousands of people. And we were all salaried employees, so someone would be staying later to make sure it happened, likely for free.

Which is literally the same thing. The hotfix was known after the patch notes were written ("scheduled"), but before they were actually posted ("emailed"). They could have fixed the patch notes before they went up. And the fact that multiple people complained on the forums about the "lack of a hotfix" (it wasn't just me) shows that they did indeed cause quite a stir by blasting thousands of people with false information in those patch notes. Some people are even not playing the game right now because of this broken item, and the patch notes dashed their hopes of playing in 7.4.
