The only abilties that i felt should be changed were her Passive, her Tether, and her R. The only thing i'd change with Tether is that it doesn't root someone without the Mantra bonus, this version of Karma would be a very effect solo laner against snowbally champions and assassins and i'v literally had the current karma just simply go full tank almost and run up to me with E+R+W every single time it was up. It didn't do much damage but any time she got the chance, root, root, root, root, root, heal, heal, heal, heal. It's a targeting ability as well and that's very strong. In addition, since her Mantra is no longer an ability, she'll sacrifice a more fitting ultimate for her usual unbelivably powerful spaming that's honestly a little to common among enchanter's and utility mages.

I imagine that with these changes, her other abilities would be changed slightly, by that i mean her Q and E, the E mantra would either be weaker or stronger and the Q mantra would either be weaker or stronger. Basically i think he Q and E are fine but might need number's adjusting if she had her passive and ultimate changed so drastically.

Finally, Karma's new splash art's really do seem to emphasize her connection to asian religions, i espicially love the splash of her Aztech? Skin i can't remember the name, but then it occured to me that she doesn't really fit the role that her lore and concept seem to say. For example, karma defeated an army of Noxian soldier's while also saving her entire village, if i thought about it and Karma had the ultimate i'd give her(below) then that's definitely how she'd do it.

So if you will, read on and tell me what you think.

Passive: True Mantra

If karma goes without using an ability for 10 seconds she will start to chant and enter a meditative state. For the next 15 seconds she will regenerate her mana more quickly. At the end of the Mantra, karma's next basic ability within 5 seconds will gain an additional effect.

R: Wei Wu Wei(A concept of toasim meaning action without action)

Cooldown: 120 seconds Duration: 3/5/7 Seconds

Karma enter's an entense state of meditation, after one second she creates an area around her that causes 10% of all damage her allies take from champions, within the duration of this spell to be redirected towards her. During this time, karma can only be damaged in this way. After the initial one second channel time, Karma cannot be CCed but also cannot move or cast any summoner spells, items or basic abilities except "Tether".

At the end of the duration of Wei Wu Wei, karma will deal true damage to all enemy champions who stepped within the area equal to 50% of the damage she took.

Conceptually Karma is a terrible champion. Before her rework Karma was too strong. After Karma's 2013 rework she just doesn't make sense. What is Karma? No one knows what Karma is. She needs a direction and Riot needs to make her kit more unique. Riot also needs to make sure her new kit, theme, visual update and lore are spot on. This company doesn't seem to care about Karma at all. They took away her fans, unique kit, and have done nothing but give her a number buff. Parts of her current kit are good, however, if you take way the added CC effects and numbers buff . . . . you are left with a champion that makes absolutely no sense to the game or Karma. A particular group of Developers completely gutted her and removed some very fun and liked themes, abilities and other stuff from her four years ago. These Developers have yet to do anything to address the problems.

If you take away the tether snare she has no hard CC. Indeed. She could definitely use a new passive, a new R+W, and her R+E needs to be unique and different from an Iron Locket of Solari active. I don't care if they even bring back the Shield Bomb at this point. Karma's current R+E needs to be different and done right. It's boring to sit in the back and spam R+E every second and build items to increase its strength. It's boring. She has nothing else in her kit that is done very well or creative. Karma's current kit is confusing and not done right.

In all honesty, shell need a slight buff if the meta decides to go against her. Her winrate actually isnt anything too great, and all she can really do is poke, set up kills, and shield. And by a small buff, i do mean small. Whether its a small buff to her scaling, her base stats, etc.

why are you trying to make Karma into a sort of tank? is this supposed to be a joke thread? really? you are complaining because a tank karma that deals no damage whatsoever is rooting you... which she cannot even do all that often yet you say it like she does it so easily... sorry but there is nobody but yourself to blame is a Karma is root chaining you as easily as you say she does. Mantra is a core mechanic of her and what makes her be her. You do not get to simply get rid of it and in it's place add something that belongs to a tank of all things. She is a mage support. Not a tank

First, utility support and tank are two different things. Karma already builds tanky anyway, second, I didn't remove her mantra, I put on her passive instead. Third, this concept was tied to fleshing out her consenpt because she doesn't fit her own concept well enough and cod be expanded upon.

no you removed her mantra, simple as that. Second karma builds tanky anyway? sorry but what? she builds what every single support builds nowadays or are you going to tell me that Sona is a tank as well? or Soraka? or Janna? or Nami? You did nothing but REMOVE her mantra and give her a dumb ability that fits a TANK and not a mage support. Tanks are the champions who want to take damage from others that's their job. I guess if some random champion decides to build tanky that means we should just randomly put a TANK skill on them i mean they build tanky right?

You seem to have a very deep emotional attatchment to mantra, it wasn't removed but feel free to voice your opinions somewhere else. They other's are constructive, your complaining.

REMOVED mantra, thinks that Karma is a tank that needs a TANK ultimate because she "builds tanky" ok. I will complain all i want and if you don't like it then don't reply simple as that

1: That passive would be great on an assassin who waits for their target to pass by for a kill, but not on a supportive mage like Karma. What you recommended reminds me somewhat of fiddlesticks passive, except you could still move, and you gain mana. The mana regain on someone as lane dominant as Karma would just be overpowered (and mind you this is coming from a karma main) and not being able to "ult" at the exact moment you need an ulted spell is, well, kinda dumb.

2: removing the root on her base tether would be one of the worse things to ever happen to karma. She'd have literally only one form of CC, being her really REALLY weak slow on her Q.

3: That ultimate is an amazing concept... for a tank champion. Karma isn't a tank, she's a utility mid or utility support. Tank karma is a THING but so is AD Malzahar, it's not super meta because it's just kind of cheesy. This ult is similar to Maokai's old ultimate, and, well Karma isn't maokai. Karma support usually tends to build one, maybe two support-tank items, and usually only builds them for the actives and not for actual tank stats.

4: I do agree that karma doesn't fufill her gameplay fantasy however, but you're going about these changes all wrong mate. Karma should still choose when to mantra abilities, but her mantra abilities should have more decision making put behind them. Support karma just shields, tank karma (as you stated) just heals and roots, and mage karma just uses her Q. This doesn't mean you should take out these parts of her kit, but instead change them to make other choices more meaningful. For example, what if Karma's team is being chased? Well you could R-Q to put down a AOE slow, but why bother when you could just ult E everytime as support? or if you have AP why waste the potential damage of using defiance when you could just RQ?

Here's my take on how karma could be more balanced, I'd like some imput from you if you have a second. https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/p3XmvjE4-karmas-balancing
