True enough.

Won this one because I carried.
Guess who lost first turret? That's right, me. Why? Because I died one time in lane to a gank. During the short time I spend dead and the time it takes me to get back to lane, my turret goes from 100-0.
Oh no they're worse than that. If you ask me they're likely made out of matchsticks and oily rags....so play Annie or Brand and those fuckers'll burn down if one of those two so much as sneeze at them xP
The advantage a team gains for pushing a turret really makes early game a focus. Build around being able to out-harass and devastate a turret in <5 mins, and it's probably GG from there for your team. The fact that the correctly built team could burn all outer-layer turrets in <5 mins is an ugly reality of this game. The high level of success split-pushers can receive at early points is also disgusting. I'm not sure if they were trying to streamline game length or if they were trying to reward ballsy turret dives as early as a few minutes in.
Frequently, I face the situation where the question is do I stay to defend, or just back to avoid death?
And what's up with this season's 1hp theme? So many times we go in to burst down someone and they walk away with 1hp or so. Even I've had that happen once or twice to me. That's reasonable.
Most League players would have a heart attack if they saw the Heroes of the Storm towers. They tickle you at best and die to a breeze, on top of that all abilities in the game (except maybe a select few) can hit them. Plus they run out of ammo and take ages to reload. Back when Li-Ming was released she could take 2 towers before minions even spawned without taking a single point of damage herself. In that game however they believe that you the player should defend the towers, they're just there to discourage early diving and to clear out minions. I played it recently (gotta get that Oni Genji skin even though I don't play him) and it's ridiculous how fast you destroy bases in that game now with all the new heroes. Anyway, what I'm saying is that Riot might operate from the same view. The towers are there to clear out minions and discourage the early dive, but later on you gotta defend the towers.
I agree that the towers might be too weak early on (bolded so people don't think I want weaker towers), but we gotta be careful what we wish for. If they make the towers as strong as some people here want we might be looking at 60+ minute games on average, or people will run 4 ADCs and a tank so they can take the towers faster. Quite the conundrum if you think about it. People complain about long games but at the same time they want towers that are so strong it'll be 20-30 minutes in before you take the first one.
that game is for casual players, you can use Abilities on the towers... it is so unsatisfying and so fast paced
I do like how original some of their heroes are, like Cho'Gall being controlled by 2 players or how Ragnaros will be able to become the fort. But yeah, the game is super casual.
Weak is an understatement.
Yesterday I played top lane. The other guy never got anywhere near my tower. After I killed him and went to the base, the enemy jungler at level 8 came to my lane, pushed it and took my tower from 100% to 0 before those 6 minions died.
In DOTA you can see 4man towerdives at lvl 2... Also their towers do like no dmg after earlygame... Having strong towers in LOL encourages the most boring meta - Ziggs, Xerath, Lux, Ori waveclear until the tanks are fat enough to actually dive you 30-40 minutes into the game and tank for their whole team.
Im not referring to the damage.. but durability, how fast they go down is egregious!
Unless you want 40+ min games all the time, with the most boring, wave clear focused meta, you don't want more durable towers.
If I had magic turrets that shoot balls of fire, I wouldn't surrender.
The closer you are to the nexus the stronger the towers should be and act.
Right now there is no difference in the late game for the towers and they will eventually crumble like tissue paper.
