Why did we even have to play this game?
As soon as the loading screen starting, I knew it was game over.
We're in high gold flex queue, and these are the teams: My team: Top: Silver 2 (Gold last season) Jungle: Plat 1 (Diamond last season) Me: Unranked (Plat last season) ADC: Gold 1 (Plat last season) Supp: Unranked (unranked last season)
Enemy team: Top: Plat 1 (Diamond last season) Jungle: Diamond 1 (Masters last season) Mid: Unranked (Gold last season) ADC: Diamond 4 (gold last season) Support: Plat 1 (plat last season)
Our only advantage was my lane, the rest were severely outmatched. And my lane being an advantage doesn't matter much when their master jungle is a camille and I'm mid, since she can come from either side (I can only ward one) and leap the full way across the lane. I was ganked 3 times in the first 3 minutes to ensure her mid laner had a lead, then she basically just rotated between bot and mid the rest of the game as their diamond top laner crushed our silver/gold.
But then after it was all over?
- 5 LP.
FIVE.
I mean, my MMR was high, but not that high. I was gaining 25-26LP per win and losing 12-13LP per loss.
The fact that I got a -5 LP means Riot's matchmaking KNEW this game was imbalanced.
What happened to every game being a 50% chance to win according to matchmaking?
I could have believed this if it ended with a regular LP loss. Sure - they're all just low ranked in flex relative to their solo queue rank, and the matchmaking couldn't know better. I was initially thinking I'd come here and write a post to say that while solo shouldn't be influenced by other ranks, maybe flex should be influenced by solo queue rank.
But -5 LP? Why are you putting me in a game that I have a very low chance to win and you know it?
It sure was loads of fun to be down 19-1 before the 15min mark.
