We need more vel koz champions

Immobile, squishy skillshot champs. those are the ones that truly take skill.... most of them. you need to position correctly and if you get caught you die.... unlike nid and ekko and other mobile champs. this is not because i hate mobility. just please riot, dont give champions more than 2 mediocre escapes. not another nid or zed who can say no to ganks and get away with bad positioning. we need champs like Cassiopeia ,Velkoz and Orianna . not moreLeblanc andKalista . even Sivir is less frustrating to deal with. On that note I would like to leave it up to you if you want league of mobilty or not, but I, and many others, would like an immobile champ who is viable.

I'd rather have someone with a unique mechanic. Like using Range as a resource.

IDK to be honest my absolute most hated champion designs are immobile mages

They're not very interesting to play and they're just plain annoying to play against. Their immobility allows them to have jacked up base stats (Annie, Viktor, Lissandra), and since mages usually have relatively long range they're not actually that vulnerable. High base stats also means they can afford to die a bunch of times and still be relevant. Like Ziggs can die as many times as he wants, as long as he can still waveclear and poke he'll always be a valuable asset to a team, meanwhile Zed becomes useless once the enemy builds QSS. Also because mages are burst-damage oriented, even if you catch them in a team fight or something chances are they're still just going to mash their combo and do a ton of damage before dying.

With Vel'koz its like, sure you can kill him a few times early game when he actually needs to move up to last hit, but once he gets some mana regen he just sits a mile away and throws shit at you and if he lands a couple spells you die. That's not very interactive in my book.

TIL standing 3 football fields away pot-shotting random spells with almost no cooldown yet have high base stats and high scaling qualifies as 'truly skilled'

Idk if you've had a vastly different experience with these champs, but as an ADC/top/jg main, when I have to fill mid, I pick champs like Velkoz Lux Ziggs because they're safe and easy. To be 'effective' all you have to do is throw shit in the general direction of the enemy while not dying, which is pretty easy when you're a mile away from the action. Worst comes to worst, item 3157 item 3157 item 3157

Maybe an unpopular opinion but I'd rather face an LC$ champion over Vel'Koz any day, or any other old-style mage for that matter. These immobile mages can feed all day and still do their job, any other class of champions are almost useless when significantly behind.

-Think about it though, you can shut down a tank. A 0/5 Amumu can't go in or he'll die instantly. He can't tank properly cuz he's poor. -You can shut down ADCs, 0/5 ADC needs to stay in AA range exposing itself to the same danger as a fed ADC except does way less damage. He can't effectively do his job cuz he's poor. -You can shut down Assassins. Hell even if Yasuo or Zed or something gets fed you can just Zhonyas and it'll prevent them from doing their job. They cant do their job effectively cuz Whoreglass OP. Also because they're poor. -Mages on the other hand? Anivia Trololo I'm 0/7 but I still insta-clear the wave and stall out the game for 40 minutes because I got blue buff and 3 Dorans Rings.

Velkoz is OP as fuck.

Keevalroy9/17/2015, 8:46:54 PM2 votes

Insanely mobile and overloaded to hell and back. That definitely sounds healthy, fun, and non-infuriating...to spectators.

velkoz is my go to mage, and the glory and power you feel when ullting the entire enemy team in a team fight. wonderful...

Sire Hippington9/18/2015, 12:55:55 PM1 votes

i think vel'koz is a bad example, he and the other longranged imobile mages don't take alot off skill, as their massive range gives so much savety.

The mages that actually do need skill are Anivia Brand Veigar , midranged mages that still rely on skillshots while haveing no mobillity.

Ignis09/18/2015, 2:17:38 PM1 votes

Once again everyone seems to forget that last champion released (Tahm Kench) has 0 mobility save for his ult.

Vel'Koz is balanced but rarely played since he's skill shot oriented, and that won't ensure you get your damage off on targets who gank/towerdive you. If Riot wants to give us another heavy hitter like Morde with reliable damage, be they range or melee, sure. Otherwise, I don't see another Vel'Koz or Cass type champ being popular. The times you do see Vel'Koz, they are bot lane support because they would rather have a buddy with them than risk being alone.

I think Brand is a good example of an immobile champ. His skillshots are the least hard to hit and he;s not too complex. When I'm being ganked as him, I usually get at least one kill if the enemy commits too long.

EDIT: Ori is a good example too. Her Q, W & R have big enough radius that they can reliably hit targets more often than not. If Cass didn't have weak DoTs, she'd be good too.

also ziggs? i <3 him

Wicked Waffle9/17/2015, 10:34:13 PM1 votes

Moar tentacle champions? Jk, I like immobile mages too, especially ones reliant on skillshots. This lets them have tons of power and not feel broken to play against (cough Vayne), while also making them really skill based.

Shénzhì9/17/2015, 10:47:26 PM1 votes

No we don't need more of them. wtf?

IxtaliKing9/18/2015, 12:21:37 AM1 votes

Fingers crossed the next champ isn't far behind Kindred and is an immobile mage. Even better if it's an immobile combo caster mage... :O

Shroom Junkie9/18/2015, 12:30:34 AM1 votes

I like playing insanely mobile champs. Not against. So basically no, they're too good.
