Taric most likely won't keep his heal when he is reworked

I can't imagine they will be able to give him meaningful CC or abilities if he kept it

Taric heal is one of the basis of his Paladinish kit. It won't go away.

If you want a paladin that heals go with Kayle. Giving a tank useful abilities + a heal is going to be ridiculously broken no matter how you slice it.

Kayla isn't a paladin, she's an angel... And doesn't heal like a paladin nor is she tanky

The Paladin archetype is a Tank with the ability to support and heal his team mates.

the paladin archetype is a holy warrior that is a hybrid between support and fighter

Leona is honestly a paladin. Kayle is a paladin. Taric is a paladin.

I agree with this. A true paladin does not even heal. He more praying to his or her god to heal a person. In the end i see Taic will end more in the the buffing of other then healing.

If you want to keep the wow comparison.

Leona is the Protection spec (high dfense and offensive utility)

Kayle the Retri (damage and heals/utility)

Taric the Holy (buffs and heals)

Taric is intended to fill the paladin type niche according to past Riot posts. He is designed to actively participate in the front line while providing healing support primarily. This means that his heal is going to stay in unless they change his niche, which they usually try to avoid. If anything, he is probably going to lose some of the reliability on his CC. They'll probably change his armor aura into something support related that still works off armor but is more engaging.

He would be fucking worthless without the stun. Rather lose the heal. If he lost the stun he would no longer be a support because lets be real, thats all he really brings to bot lane because the heal is minimal anyways

This would be stupid Taric has two main features since forever:

  • The passive armor defense granted to the ally thanks to his W aura, that is thematically connected with the gems theme, and let him scale with armor like few other supports (the most notable is the recently released Braum, Leona, Alistair and Nunu)
  • The fact that since his first rework in S3(before he was an heavy healer + tanky supp) he has shifted to be a jack-of-all support that could grant you a little bit of everything (damage through passive + W + Ulti, healing through Q + defense through natural scaling that enhance W and also passive - this changed later - , CC through E, bonus aura to mates through ulti + W). This jack of all nature made him really popular at a certain point when he was actually kinda god in any of these aspect, so they needed to nerf him harshly to not make him the dominant choice, and with new support coming to bot lane (newly released as Braum or midlaners coming bot like Morg/annie and a lot of others) he was abandoned by riot and forgotten by players(he doesn't receive any kind of buffs/nerfs for more than a full season)

While I think Riot need to focus on some aspect of the kit (namely gems/armor scaling/W aura) when doing his rework and to boost these things he needs to lose kind of power source from his kit, I don't think he should lose completely his nature of being a bit of jack-of-all champ, so he should keep healing in the future kit...also because Braum has definitivel taken his spot as the main defensive supp in the game, and Soraka + Janna are the big healers, so you can't put Taric in only one of these categories to compete for the top spot

Skill shot stun, no heal. Taric mains will not be happy.

I think it's more likely he'll keep the heal and lose the stun.

I can see this as well. Why they where reworking Soraka. They keep saying they dont what a tank healer as that will not be health for the game. As you never be able to kill them as they heal other. That way Soraka take her own health to heal other and cant heal her self unless she hit with her Q.

So even if he does keep his heal then it will not be able to heal him self like now.

Tarik fits the paladin archetype, which is defined by Tanky, Heals and Buffs. They are not know for CC though.

Hell probably loose his self heal in regards of his tankyness, but he will definitely keep the allies heal.

I think he should loose the stun in favour of some ally protection like Braum has.

The stun and and his passive/active W is why I play him, take the ult and autoattack passive steroid but please leave the heal

they need to completely rework him.Ezreal

They could upgrade his ultimate to heal allies and smite enemies. Just not epic enough for an ultimate. Instead of damage, it could give him more tankiness. That'd be cool.
