I was thinking maybe assassin running down mid cause you killed their mage counters

This 2 champions is complete dead and i don't see them around much , although they used to be the perfect easy counter to assassins in lane and post lane due to their nature of burst and easy cc.

All that mana change forced them out of game slowly as used her q with old version for easy mana regain and poking against assassins like or .

But now she can't do that anymore due to Doran change, and sames goes for and look i used to the pre-season as well and i loved how you nerfed him but yet it just so much for him that anyone counter him.

Annie has a 55% winrate mid lane atm. You just don't see her very often because she's a super generic and boring champion so nobody plays her.

But back then when i was playing mid i remember she was my one to go mage against assassin, why no one play her ?

She is boring but she definitely slaps melee assassins. Often most picks are good against assassins players just dont have the knowledge of why.

But MonkeyKing was boring for most people and now he is banned/pick so i don't know. then why people would cry about assassin if they don't want to play counters ?

Wukong usually has a pretty decent pickrate. He just slides under the radar most of the time and people ignore him until he becomes op again.

His kit is more fun than Annie's. It's still super binary, but it's more fun which is why he has a higher pickrate. EQ is super satisfying to land and using your clone to juke bad players is also fun. Going invis and then flash eing into the enemy team and then knocking them all up with your ult feels nice to do as well. All Annie does is spam Q during laning phase and then flash ult every few minutes late game. Nothing satisfying in her kit at all unless you main her.

well i can agree that you can make more outplays with wukong kit more than annie kit, but still why people won't pick an easy assassin counter and just go for the classic ranged stuff like Lux Xerath etc ?

Ofcourse people would enjoy what they enjoy more, But i mean yes i do tend to main off meta champions like Wukong (When he was off-meta) and Urgot but still i play them cause they have the power to do something and they mostly decent in half matchs atleast. While Lux, Xerth, Ziggs and such have their downside against Zed, Yas, Wukong, Talon ,etc

Malzahar ? Burst? what are you talking about? 3 of his abilities are DOT and his Q has a small delay and isn't guaranteed to land anyway

You forgot that assassin are squishy and his DOT over time able to kill them easily special after he combo them. but yah that was before.

Kinda is because the combo is E Q R. The R locks the target on position so that Q hits anyway. Since you build item 3116 second item, it makes it easy to land honestly.

I've to aggree the burst element is not there unless fed. Burst means killing ppl in less than one second nowadays so definitly not the case of malzahar for sure. However since ppl tend to focus whoever is targeted by malza R, it can be considered as a burst facilitator. :D.

Make no mistakes tho, E Q R will burst squishies (2,5 or 3+ items) but it's very unlikely that he gets in range safely.

Malzahar doesn't counter assassins. That's from back when he had actual damage (to punish mistakes), armor/MR runes (so he didn't die in a hit) and no electrocute/duskblade/literally everything since meddler got hired (again so he could actually, you know, trade).

Even the best Malz player NA thinks Zed is one of Malz's hardest counters. There's no nuance in this game anymore. You all in and that's it. Malz can't all in because he has no fucking base damage. They're all in the low 200s max'd and he has garbage AP ratios. So he just pushes. But it turns out assassins all have wave clear, so that doesn't even matter.

You're forgetting Azir Ryze Viktor The only mages we have to actually deal with them now are Swain Heimerdinger Vladimir

otherwise it's mostly just a game of "punish X for doing X" or "stay safe until X time and help the team" Anyway, if you see Zed locked in and you play Velkoz you should know what you're getting yourself into at this point

Well i sure forgot alot of mages but i remember special this 2 cause they are the easy one to go against assassin.

And Hemi isn't a good counter to mages , i can out play him any day with my Wukong.

But Vlad and Swain counter them cause they are my broken with sustain and tanky

Well... You can still play malza into zed. It's just hard... I ban him personally. But it's the same for every control mages. They won't rush qss, so if you can bait some 2vs2 or roam, you can shut him down. Just not in 1vs1.

Yeah fun fact buddy when Azir Ryze and Viktor are nerfed to a shit point 2 things happen one a burst mage meta which goes down to a push and roam meta. Then the Assassins pop up... it just goes to show how much power is granted when someone masters an actual hard champ. On top of that things like zed can still be beaten but it takes a lot more brain power. On the other hand now we have burst mages... coming in as the follow up to assasins.. all b/c the 3 kings of midlane are not as strong anymore.
