@Riot if there's ever a time to admit failure and revert a rework, it's now.

Disclaimer: This thread exists to talk about mord, not the other 3 juggernauts

After the "dust has settled", we've seen mord turn into an incredibly toxic feast-or-famine (Mostly feast in general gameplay) champion who will probably never be able to solo lane, even after the W changes. Right now, he's a champion who wins lanes purely because he has over-inflated numbers and mostly, because he is garunteed a massive level advantage over his opponent. You could say poke him, but the sustain from his W, relic and his support, plus his always-up shield makes that a bit inadvisable. If his support gets any form of cc on you, you die instantly, no question, and he thrives on forcing dragon and using it to push. In lane, he seems broken, stupid to play against, and you feel useless.

But then teamfights happen, and with any level of coordination, mord gets kited all day long because he is a no-mobility champion who has to spend 3 attacks in melee range to do his damage and he has one of the lowest movement speeds in the game. His e damage is laughable, and so all of the power is shunted into his Q, which also means that after the level spike at 9, he loses power as the game goes on. For good reason, he has ~74% win ratio on games at 25 min or under, and then plummets to a 47% at games over 40 minutes (and we KNOW his stats are broken). That kind of power curve will never be healthy.

At his core, the problem with mord has always been no mobility and cc. It makes him hard to balance, because he must then have WAY too much strength in other areas, making him feast or famine. So how does this get fixed? By reducing his mobility EVEN FURTHER and by making his damage ridiculous. Just increasing the level of feast or famine gameplay.

So the problems are this: no one who was a dedicated mord player actually likes these changes, because they completely destroy who he was as a character. Most people playing either as mord or against mord also don't like these changes because he's super anti-fun to play against, doesn't have a particularly engaging playstyle (hit Q. Run at enemy. Try to hurt them while your team maybe peels and maybe lets you die) and ultimitely, will always be niche and feast or famine. I think it's safe to say this rework is a failure.

So now comes the test: Will you guys actually revert it, or (more likely) will you ignore the overwhelmingly negative feedback on the rework (just like you ignored it in the pbe) and just nerf it until Mord becomes EVEN LESS of a viable pick than he was before?

Riotpls, this rework destroys mord. Get rid of it, or else do something better. His current kit is a trainwreck that conceptually and in practice, doesn't work.

As a veteran Mordekaiser main, heck, I ONLY play Morde, I'd say completely reverting his rework is a step backwards since he'll still have all the problems he had before. He needs a second rework ASAP! Heck, they may revert his changes and give him the Sion treatment in due time or fix him up short term. The rework was an utter failure but his previous kit wasn't really healthy on its own, albeit healthier than the current mess. It's like choosing the lesser evil when there's good to be had with the right amount of love and care given to Morde. He needs a dedicated team of Designers who'll stay true to his identity and expand on it rather than warping him into something only remotely resembling the former Master of Metal.

Imo reverting Morde changes could be kind of better (at least for now).

Right now Morde is far too weird. With next rework basing off his curent state this would turn into huge pile of mess, metal and misunderstanding (3M shortly)

Whoa, hold on a second! Don't even think about me wanting his re-rework being based on the mess we've got currently! He needs to be fleshed out as a character, as THE master of metal. Forget everything we already know about him, especially his current kit and build on his core themes (Shield, Ultimate, etc.)

Yea! And for that reason it's better if we'd use his pre-reworked kit. And best we can do right now is revert current Mordecaiser. Otherwise you'll see plenty of Riot ideas on how to screw him once again while using reworked Morde as base.

No, trust me, Morde would be a lot better off QOL and gameplay health wise without that retarded passive on his W. I called it from the very beginning that Morde would be insanely toxic to face with his new kit, and I was right.

Yes, Morde wasn't in the best spot before, and yes, he wasn't insanely fun to play against either, but at least he had a niche and actually contributed something to the team rather than cheesing bot lane because he got two levels ahead of the enemy ADC because of a bullshit passive and then proceeds to fall off late game cuz he can't summon dragon ghosts anymore.

People are misunderstanding me T_T I hate the W mechanic since it's unfair and unhealthy, it SHOULD be removed. But instead of reverting the rework they should assemble ever Mordekaiser enthusiast they've got at RiotHQ or heck, even the forums and get together to give him an entirely new kit expanding on his core themes!

(My bad actually but anyone who's read at least one of my zillion Mordekaiser threads should know how much I despise the course Riot took with Morde's rework :<)

Stop asking for them not to revert the rework.

What you are asking for is the obvious next step after it's reverted.

Fiora needs the same treatment.

The elephant in the room is that they started these reworks without correctly identifying the problems with the original kits, and then proceeded to make kits that are even harder to balance and more nonsensical than the originals.

Fiora < Don't let her get out of this, you're going with Mordekaiser on this one

Agreed. Mord is Riot's greatest disaster since Dominion.

Yea, I'm not one to typically jump on the "this champ is op do something NOW!" train, but I loved playing mord before his rework. Many mord players quit playing him because he feels..... different and not in a good way.

Sorry, but who the hell are you to say all this nonsense?

I literally cannot upvote this post hard enough.

Fiora too, tbh

Well put.

Every time I see a morde thread and someone in support of new morde I can tell they'd never played him extensively before the change.

Anyone who played morde before the change absolutely despises the change.

Before I played morde because he was fun, even if gimped. Now I have no desire go touch a champ that was once one of my favorites. It's fucking disgusting.

inb4 but, but OP, skarner, darius and garen dont need rework reverted

Malicious Metal7 votes

Well tbh they can be fixed with number adjustments while Morde's simply a frankenstein's monsters held together by his gimpy W and dragon clone :P

That Q must go. I've never seem so much damage. It deals 100% AD physical damage on the first strike plus 30% AP + 20% AD and up to 100% AD + 120% AP + 80% AD at level 1 on the third. His max damage at level 18 allows over 1300 with no AD or AP items on just his third hit.

I think he needs more time to get further updates before anyone should demand reverting.

No rework is perfect right away.

am I the only one who has seen Morde still dominate solo lane? o.O honestly now Morde is fine. So you have to alter the way you used to play him, so what? that happens with just about any rework? you either stick-and-move with burst to out move the walking suit of armor, or you will get whacked on the head, a lot.

Alright. Try not to speak for everyone. I enjoy playing the new Mordekaiser. More so as a mid laner then a bot laner, but he's more interesting and generally stronger than he was before the rework.
