Can you guys revert Galio's rework?

Since we are in the state of reverting reworks (LB, Rengar, Kog'Maw,) why not Galio? The rework stripped him of his identity, removed the iconic spells that made him who he was and were fun to play, and made him less interesting as a whole. You stripped us of one of the most unique spells in the game- his old ult, which was so POWERFUL yet fun and had counterplay. Flying in with E, pressing R and pulling everybody in then BAM, mega damage.

Now? His "taunt" is barely a shadow of its self- it didn't even do any damage until a few patches ago, and it slows him down so it's easy for people to get out of, and is 1) not fun to use, and 2) pretty horrible compared to his old R.

His new R? Not fun or pleasing to watch, and you can only ult allies, who can die before you get there and then you can be put in a shitty spot trying to survive.

You removed his fun W, where it healed him based off damage he or someone else took, and gave them a shit ton of armor and MR. That was so unique, and you took it away! WHY???

His old Q- although it was a skillshot, it rewarded you with mega damage for hitting it correctly. I LOVED using that spell on people and seeing them pop. Now it's this stupid blast of wind that is even harder to hit for the full damage because people know how to dodge and move out of it.

Around the time of his rework, we got the Warwick job done not long before him. His rework was a very big SUCCESS, and made him more unique but still fun to play and KEPT HIS OLD SPELLS, but with new touches on them. Why couldn't you have left Galio the way he was, but did something similar to him like WW? Or, you know, not touch something that wasn't BROKEN? Sure, he was old and outdated, but his kit was FUN AS HECK and just needed tuning and a visual update, if that.

Now? He's a shadow of himself, completely boring to play. He was my favorite champion, Riot, and you ruined that. You have ruined a lot of things for me on this game (Teambuilder removal, Galio, AP itemization), and it HURTS.

Please revert Galio to what he was before. You guys have been making the game worse and worse ever since Tencent bought you out.

You owe it to us, Riot. Stop thinking about all the greedy stuff you can do to make LCS money, and give us something that we can be happy about to sign into the game to play.

First off, Riot doesn't owe really anything to anyone because it's a free game.

But I agree Galio was a lot of fun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dfna_5yAAg

Honestly, just revert w and r with some touch ups, pretty much it.

Right. So let's dig into this.

{quoted}

Now? His "taunt" is barely a shadow of its self- it didn't even do any damage until a few patches ago, and it slows him down so it's easy for people to get out of, and is 1) not fun to use, and 2) pretty horrible compared to his old R.

His old taunt made Galio stationary. He wasn't catching anyone in a taunt that made him completely immobile. Furthermore, it was channeled, which means that any CC that hit him immediately ended it. The new Taunt gives him damage reduction and has more nuanced use than just "pray your enemies don't get out of range before you flash-R."

His new R? Not fun or pleasing to watch, and you can only ult allies, who can die before you get there and then you can be put in a shitty spot trying to survive.

This complaint isn't a complaint about the ult itself, but simply poor timing and bad decision making on your part. His ult is not Shen's ult. It is not intended to make that ally survive if they are near death. It gives that ally some of his own MR and armor when he casts it, making them more durable. It's good for tanks, and squishies if they're at full HP. It's not good for trying to save someone who's quickly dying. It's a follow up engage tool or a GTFO zone for people assaulting an ally. You need to learn to not randomly ult into a crowd and expect to 1v5 after they kill your ally. Your ally couldn't 1v5, so why would you be able to?

You removed his fun W, where it healed him based off damage he or someone else took, and gave them a shit ton of armor and MR. That was so unique, and you took it away! WHY???

His old W was plain and pretty dull. The healing was small, and it was mainly a gimmick to make his AP rise due to boosting his MR.

His old Q- although it was a skillshot, it rewarded you with mega damage for hitting it correctly. I LOVED using that spell on people and seeing them pop. Now it's this stupid blast of wind that is even harder to hit for the full damage because people know how to dodge and move out of it.

It is now a double arcing skill shot that leaves a small moving tornado that deals %HP damage. People could EASILY dodge his old shot, which was one-and-done. His current Q at least lingers and can still damage enemies who wander into it.

Old Galio was a complete mess. His Q and E were awkward skill shots. He was supposed to be a tank mage, but very little of his kit was actually considered tanky, aside from the fact that he was supposed to build MR, and he had such massive mana costs that he wasn't an effective mage at all. For a tank, he also had no engage, aside from what little speed he could get while moving through E, and his only CC was in his ultimate. He was a conflicted champion, and his kit didn't work well at all. Granted, I can see the bitterness about his change from gargoyle to colossus statue, but I feel like they preserved a lot of elements in his old kit, while modernizing him and making him work a lot better as a mage tank. Calling for a revert back to that mess of a state he used to be in is a no-go on many levels.

Warwick got a lot of his kit changed. His Q is brand new, his R changed, his E is brand new. The only thing that remained remotely similar is his passive and his W, which even then, Bloodscent does a helluva lot more than the old one did. Warwick also was pretty straightforward in his old kit - he ran up and attacked you to death. He wasn't awkward, conflicted, or clunky like old Galio was. And also, new Galio is a SUCCESS. You may not think so, but he's pretty popular now, and he's done very well in competitive play. That he is not a success like Warwick is purely your opinion on this matter, simply because you don't like the new Galio.

i seriously dont see how anyone who played the old Galio a lot can like the new Galio more than old.

I hardly even play this imposter they call Galio now. When I used to spam the hell out of old Galio.

Galio is great the way he is.

Since we are in the state of reverting reworks (LB, Rengar, Kog'Maw,) why not Galio?

Those are completely different in comparison. Galio was a full relaunch, (LB, Reg, Kog, ect) were small scale reworks done as part of the discontinued class updates.
