I agree that many people underestimate the impact of nerfs, but to be fair, the patch has only been live for a day. We can't completely trust those number.

It’s true. Garen hasn’t been touched really but he has moved all over the ladder do to other small tweaks here and there. I don’t think people understand how much 3 ad per level can shift the game.

High tier players overreact when things get nerfed. They actually think the balance team is actually doing their job and hard nerf the champions, which obviously is't the case. Thus, his popularity decreases, leading to lower WR. So yes, -3AD per level is pretty insignificant.

The harshest thing you can do to a marksman is nerf their starting AD. You don't remember Vayne's "-5 AD" meme? Turns out it was actually one of the big hits that removed her from the top of the meta back in the day.

3 damage is insignificant. Granted scalings are also affected, a measly 3 AD is extremely miniscual and not noticeable.

typical people who don't understand that minus 3 ad makes you spending about a minute and half more inside the jungle clearing and taking more damage from creeps while also having reduced lifesteal on monsters

Mathematically speaking, -5 AD and -3 AD literally don't have any long term effect. It may reduce their starting damage SLIGHTLY, but mostly its just a placebo effect.
