Crit marksmen

Are not in a bad spot. They're in the same spot they were in season 2, 3 and 4. Back then their damage didn't ramp up until late game (4 or 5 items) and then they were pentakill gods, after being a pushover early. They became famine if they fell behind and couldn't afk farm an empty lane.

They're in exact same spot now, they still have massive power late game and will outscale most of the roster.

The issue is the snowball state of the game. Games don't make it to late game, a mid lane Talon/Kat can control the game completely or a top Illaoi/Yorick/Nasus can take 2nd, inhibitor tower and inhibitor while missing 1 dragon fight at 25 minutes.

A good farming crit marksmen in a 45 minute game will still dominate and wipe an enemy team.

Also, new early game build path is B.F. Sword into Zeal. Not outright upgrading into IE. First item blood thirster or death's dance also goes a long way with hurricane.

in other words they are in a bad spot. Sorry but it doesn't matter if they are in the same state as earlier seasons. If they cannot do anything then they are in a bad spot currently. There is no reason to pick a crit ADC at all at the moment.

Could not agree more man. It's sad to see this is slowly going from "Crit Adc" to " Any Adc" and that is really concerning.

They're not in a bad spot because in my games that are actually 35 + minutes long, they still carry.

My short games are stomp fest. Either we stomp or get stomped; a product of high damage and snowballing. But in games were people are aware of the damage and current state of the game, crit marksmen still carry.... scarily with 100% crit, close to max (if not max) as and a ridiculous amount of sustain. They're basically all Draven and Draven is Draven 2.0

Poppy was a monster in the late game before her rework yet she was considered to be one of the worst champions in the game due to how horrendous her early to mid game was. Jinx was insanely good if you managed to get her to lvl 16+ yet up until they changed her so she doesn't need to reach that, Jinx was considered one of the worst ADCs in the game.

If a champion needs to reach a point in the game that is only achievable a small amount of times while feeling completely pointless to play before then they are in a bad spot. Same for champions that can have godly early games but the instant lvl 8-10 comes they just get outscaled by everything imaginable regardless of how ahead they were. Just because you are good at some point in the game it doesn't mean that you aren't in a bad spot

Games lasted at least 30 minutes on average in S2. Remember when you were selecting game mode it said "games last around 30-45 min on Summoner's Rift"?

Now it's more like 25 min and even lower in the higher elos. Therefore ADCs need to spike earlier to be reliably relevant. But then that's a problem because other classes have a shorter window where they shine before ADCs take over. But if ADCs spike late then most games are over before they have a say.

The solution, I think, is quite simply to make games not so snowbally.

Hpw do you have more votes than me simply for rewriting my posts in the comments? That's awkward.

Well said and this has been building for a while as damage has ramped up. I mostly play late game champs and the last season and a half have made it really hard on late game champs. Pulling back adcs is the first good step, next is AD burst champs. Pull back the damage so that some champs can actually be played again.

we should start by finally getting rid of turret first blood.

this is where all the shit started at the beginning of season 7. its one of the largest snowball factors in the game. leave the bot lane turret the weakest on the map to prevent the laneswap meta from coming back, but have the map control from taking turrets be their own reward.
