@Riot Pre change public discussions? Please let us in.
Riot it seems you are going to go through with the Azir changes on the PBE. I personally don't agree with the nerfs, but I'll leave that out of it. If you simply glance at the forums, there are about 3 Azir posts that are hot topic right now, specifically in relation to his nerfs/how to nerf him. Would this not suggest that perhaps the PBE nerfs could be the wrong way to go about this? Or at the least could (what seems to be) the general Azir player base have your reasoning/justification for the changes?
It's not the first time changes have gone through despite various champion mains protests/disagreements, so I propose that prior to significant champion adaptations/nerfs/buffs, you, the Rioters, engage with the player base in a discussion, either here on the boards or a third party site (Twitter, Reddit etc).
Thing is, with a lot of these changes, there were 2 things that the players didn't/don't like, the changes themselves, and the lack of response from your end. I am SURE, that were you to explain why, even if you said you were committing to your changes, it would have eased a lot of frustration.
In short, rather than keep us in the dark, Riot can you let us in? We want to help, and between you and us working together, rather than yelling at each other through cyber-space, we could make a huge difference.
