@Meddler Why was her Heal nerfed so quickly before it was released?

Her new heal isn't even a significant sustain anymore. Why was it nerfed before you test its strength? I believe a riot post said they prefer a wait and see approach before nerfing and yet Elise yet again gets a unjustified rushed nerf before she even gets another chance.

probably internal testing/pbe testing

It now applies to every autoattack in spider form, has a higher base heal, and higher scaling. It doesn't apply to the autoattacks of her Spiderlings anymore but it is now constantly active.

The burst health might be reduced somewhat but you should heal more over a longer period of time and you don't need your Spiderlings alive to heal.

In addition, she has increased damage and healing after Rappel, which should make up for the loss when fighting.

Longer period of what her not attacking? how she is in the meta atm she wont have enough time to auto attack to heal enough to survive. The base heal of the new heal is not really high 4/6/8/10 lol. At 200 ap she heals only 30 hp, 60 with the 100% rappel buff which is risky to use. It isn't making up for the loss, its a straight up nerf.

She only has the heal-on-autoattack for the 3 second duration of Skittering Frenzy at the moment. Having it up full-time will provide more sustain over extended fights and clearing jungle camps.

Elise typically builds tanky and isn't exactly a priority target in teamfights. She'll have plenty of time to autoattack while her abilities are on cooldown.

The base heal of the new heal is not really high 4/6/8/10 lol.

The current base heal is 4 at all levels. That's up to a 250% healing increase for her autoattacks with a higher AP ratio. She doesn't have the burst heal from multiple spiderlings attacking simultaneously, but now it will have no downtime.

At 200 ap she heals only 30 hp, 60 with the 100% rappel buff which is risky to use.

You typically use Rappel in fights to dodge, escape, or chase anyways. That's a buff after you take an action you would take anyways.

Besides, considering that the heal is independent of damage done, 30HP per autoattack would be pretty significant. That's higher than Xin Zhao's W (since it takes three hits), Aatrox's W (when above 50% health since it takes 3 autoattacks) and Irelia's W (with W active) when they are all at max rank. Hardly insignificant.

You re naming AD heroes who build life steal with attack speed lol. Elise doesn't have that luxury. Xin Aatrox and Irelia can be tanky and deal a good significant amount of damage compared to an Elise who builds tanky, she wont do that much.

her burst heal will save her more than her this new one. Elise is forced to build tanky because she has to be in the fray but can't stay in it as long as everyone else because shes squishy.

I listed champions with comparable healing abilities. If you're already grasping at straws instead of trying to disprove my arguments, then I think I have proven my point sufficiently.

Grasping at straws? Lol you cant compare a heal between AD champions that can benefit from Life steal items as sustain and damage with AP champion like Elise. I disproved your argument and you haven't "proven" any of your points.
