What if Nether Grasp's suppression had a bit more "to do" for Malzahar to use it?

R: Nether Grasp

NEW Passive: While Nether Grasp is off cooldown, enemies damaged by Malzahar's other abilities gain a stack of Prophecy, up to a maximum of 5 stacks.

Active: Suppression duration changed from 2.5 seconds to 1.25 seconds + 0.25 seconds per stack of Prophecy on the target.

Reducing the up-front power of Nether Grasp in a way that interacts nicely with the many instances of repeated ability damage Malzahar has. Numbers may vary.

I don't know if he'd need any other changes with this, this was all I thought of.

or..... it could be a skill shot, and keep its damage, cooldown, and duration.

But oh no. Last time i brought up that making it a skillshot would make it more fair to play against i got downvoted to oblivion and people stated that doing it would "gut" malzahar.

adding hoops to jump through doesnt make a character more fun or interesting, it just makes them a hassle to play.

If you added something like this, it would actually have to make Malzahar's ult a LONGER duration as a pay off for his skill and properly using his kit, not shorten it. Making his ult more interactive might be a good change for him, but perhaps it should be more like Kayn's ult; that he has to mark them at all in order to use it rather than stacking, so he cant just flash cheese the ult anymore and force him to land his skill shots.

People in this thread thinking that replacing the passive is actually going to fix anything.

He’ll still do the same thing thing minus the spellsheild.

IMO The guy needs a complete overhaul with the empashis of micro managing the voidlings and increase his skill floor and skill ceiling

Is this damaged five times by a unique ability or just damaged by Malzahar's abilities 5 times? Do the stacks have a duration?

also lmao why do people think he would in any way shape or form need "compensation" for this change, it's literally the most binary skill in the game, even more binary than annie, garen or fiddlesticks. malz literally carried the season 7 worlds final without even thinking about matchup selections, but people seriously think he's in anyway shape or form balanced/fun to play against?
