[Opinion] SOLO Q next year should not have DUOs. DUO players are a party, and should play in flex Q.

TLDR: We need a solo only Q, so SOLO players can queue SOLO and have a fun with NO PREMADES GARUNTEED. Only 10 solo players each game in this queue.

Preface:

5 years ago, you were allowed to play ranked solo or duo. This was a valid solution. However, we dont have to go back to the same system. Duo q players CAN play in Flex q with other premades.

Duo players are a premade size (2), and thus should play with other premades in premade Q.

I read their ranked post and looks like theres gonna be 2 queues:

1 queue for Solo AND duo playesr 1 queue for any premade size.

But why dont they just put the solo Q, as a purely SOLO Q, with no DUOs allowed.

Since DUOs can go into the Flex queue, why dont they just go there. This will allow SOLO rank to have some really sick meaning as indivdiual rank.

We could also have SOLO RANK refer to our MMR instead of division. That way we'd really know who the best players are.

I think that SOLO Q, should be SOLO only.

Why are we giving SOLO and DUO players 2 different queues. I dont understand this part.

I would really appreiciate a SOLO ONLY Q, where solo rank/mmr is an actual reflection of your own hard work. Duos can still play in the flex q, so lets keep solo q, solo q only eh?

I think that would be sick. if 10 likeminded solo players got into a game it would be an amazing matchmaking experience. I'm not hating on parties/duoes etc. I love playing with my buds too. But I like playing SOLO THE BEST. And DUOS, should play in their own queue that was made specifically for them and all other party sizes.

DUO Q players are NOT SOLO. They need to play in the PARTY Q. Do you guys agree or not?

Again, I love playing with buds, but i think i've we're taking the time and effort to make 2 different ranked queues, lets just do it right. SOLO Q, and FLEX Q.

SOLO Q: 1 person only, 10 randoms matched each game FLEX Q: 1-5 people. many premades!

They are not sure Flex Queue will work out, and are prepared to turn it into 5-man only. If that happens, Riot wants to preserve the ability to play with a friend without the problem of coordinating a 5-man group. You should always be able to queue up with a friend and play together. Riot admitted they considered it, but went conservative and went with the system of Solo/Duo we had before. I think that's a perfectly fine and logcal decision.

Leave Solos together with Duos.

If I want to climb with my favorite support so I don't get a shit one when I'm ADC, I shouldn't have to fight a four-man premade on the other side because it's lumped with flex Q

I dislike having a SOLO/DUO Queue system that punishes the SOLO players by putting them up against players who are DUOING. This system is awful if you want to play with your friends in ranked games then it should be in FLEX Queue. SOLO/DUO needs to be made to be just SOLO Queue only. Im sorry for those of you who enjoy the SOLO/DUO queue the way it is. It is not SOLO friendly the way it is set up as 75% the time you'll run into a DUO and your team will be all randoms which ruins how the team making system works. Karma [sg-miss-fortune]

And still relevant a year later to, honestly riot listen to the player base, most of want a solo que, it's competitive, leave normal the way it is, but bring us solo que. If I want to play with friends, I rather just play normal draft, or shit with my cousin I rather just go to flex que and test our mettle there.

Basically what I've heard is that Riot saw concerns from pros and high elo players that they want to be able to duo and practice bot-lane synergy, they can do this in Flex Queue, but those players probably weren't aware of the Flex Queue system when they were asked the question of if they wanted solo-only or solo/duo queue given a choice.

I've addressed my feelings towards Riot's stance a few times now in other topics and the conclusion I've reached is there's no reason not to implement your suggestion as they could easily bring back solo/duo if they wanted later. In the meantime, Solo-only + Flex Queue makes sense. I think that's far more logical all things considered, including Riot's perspective.

From what I understand people have been asking for solo-only for many years. I've wanted it since I started playing a few years ago myself.

Besides, allowing duos into solo queue just takes away from the player base in Flex Queue, and makes it all the more likely to fail, resulting in a 5-man only queue, which then forces us to settle with solo/duo. If you don't want Flex Queue to be as likely to fail, remove solo/duo and just make it solo.

Honestly, Duo queue shouldn't be restricted to Solo queue or duo. I kind of feel like having that one guy with communications fine. SoloQ / Dynamic queue already play so differently as is.
